dildo_baggins
The team played OK in the second but as soon as a goal was let in by AV's goalie choice, the team let down and all was lost. You could see it. They all have that look cause they know its over.
King Heffy
AV's an idiot. So many issues with his decisions: Ebbett in the lineup, at all. Daniel Sedin on the point for the PP Roy and Higgins not playing together Not saying anything after a San Jose goal, and just chewing gum and looking at the scoreboard
King Heffy
ok the third goal was a bit weak - but at that point did you really think the canucks had it in them to come back??
CanucksJay
Office Case The owners of the company spend top dollar and recruit some of the best employees. They then put a manager to manage these employees. The manager has the employees in different working groups but continually switches working groups around. Fred works really well with Michael. They are efficient and produce high output. Same can be said for Lisa and Pam. However crunch time for work (busy season) comes. The manager then decides to shuffle all the employees to brand new working groups. Some of them have never worked with each other... He then demotes Lisa and hires some guy off the streets. Company Production goes down during the most vital part of the year. Nah, it's not the manager's fault. The employees have to perform lol.
wallstreetamigo
The fact that AV let the Sedins play any shifts against Couture in a home game is just crazy. I usually like Vigneault, but that was just something that stuck out as awful to me. With the last change at home, he should be matching lines a lot better. Nino
mantra of the uneducated. In no way was AV a problem last night, in fact I think his decision to play kassian and Weise following undisciplined penalties was great........both responded with strong games
MikeBossy
Its funny how we can blame Luo every time there's a failure, we can blame our scoring when we lose 3-1, we can blame our defence, we can blame the fans, we can blame the refs, we can blame CBC etc etc but as soon as anyone questions AV on here we get comments like 2 President Trophies, a Stanley Cup appearance, winning record as a coach - AV is not the problem etc etc. Fact is (as I mentioned in another thread) he has a playoff record of 37-38. Home ice advantage is huge (as others have pointed out) due to the last change. AV seems to think he can just roll our top lines against SJs. He needs to get the Sedins away from the 1st line of San Jose. His choice of lines is questionable - what the hell is Ebbett even doing in this series? I'd rather have Pinzotto and his size over Ebbett. And juggling the lines in a 1-1 game in the third?
King Heffy
He said before the game that line matching was not a priority. That he figured both teams would just roll their 4 lines.... Honestly, other coaches feast on his stupidity in that regard and he makes it way to easy on them even when at home to get the matchups THEY want. Honestly, it is ridiculous now and the man has learned nothing from previous year's when he threw the Sedins to the Wolves hoping they would overcome the matchups. They are not superhuman and his job is to put players in the best possible position to be successful. It is like he is mailingit in and not even actually doing any coaching. snucks
AV is just a hunch coach. He turns a simple game into an over thunk mess. He ruins and stifles young players that after they arrive in Vancouver full of drive and optimism, are diminished into typical coasters. They are up against very amateur coaches in Vancouver. When will the owner realize the management has messed up here for too long. He owes it to the fans to rebuild his management team on the Canucks. CanucksJay
oh man, this last page of comments is gold. Feel like having some beers with u guys. I still think we will win the series. It's almost like AV actually knows what lines he needs to play but he's doing what he's doing to troll us. He put Higgins with Roy and Kesler with 3 min left losing by 2. If he knew that's what he had to do, why wouldn't he just do it from the beginning?
Ray Canuck
Why can't we show up when needed? The mean nothing game vs the Hawks the other day we play lights out... Last night we needed to play that way and the boys mailed it in.... Too much focus on hitting at the expense of actually playing smart.... My high hopes crushed, thought we were actually better than 2011, what was I thinking 3rd period collapses seems to be our new MO
Bodee
The problem all along is how AV changes his lines about. Fine, there have been injuries but surely you leave your optimum 12 in place and just patch in. Washington played the same team for the last 12 games......ok they must have avoided injury but I guarantee AV would have shuffled the team about, injuries or no injuries. He is his own worst enemy. If he can't settle on lines, why should any opposition team fear the Canucks. One point about Friday's game. We need to win big if we are to get through this series. We need to hurt their confidence because they must feel we have little more to offer after that display. Give Niemi a nightmare to remember. Hairy Kneel
Garrison on the 1 unit PP, Ebbett out Lain in, put a checking line (which AV never uses) on the Coitus line, tell our enforcers that yes they have targets on their backs and the ref's have whistles at the ready. Bodee
are you saying the lose last night was Luongo's Fault?? If it wasn't for Luo in the First (and the canucks wouldnt have anything to build on - Period 2) and the goals he let in no where near his fault - the PP Goal was just great puck movement and an even better shot the 2nd goal was a pile up on luo and he had no change... ok the third goal was a bit weak - but at that point did you really think the canucks had it in them to come back?? by no means am i a Luongo fan boy.. but he was the reason the game stayed close.. lets just hope schneider is back tomorrow, because for some reason the team seems to play better infront of him. wallstreetamigo
In all fairness to AV, he can't even construct OUR lines effectively, never mind match up against an opponent's.
Bodee
Yep, AV destroys any chemistry forwards might develop. What makes the Sedins and Burrows work well? It's the fact that they've played together so much, they know where their linemates are going to go. Usually that takes tme to happen, which means juggling the lines constantly s hurting the team. On the rare ocaision we have instant cemistry, such as between Roy and Higgins, AV splits thm up. Gotta feel for Kassian, he's probably been put on a line with every single forward this season. How in holy hell is he supposed to succeed when he's got to adapt to 15 different players' playing styles?
wallstreetamigo
AV is a sub .500 coach in the playoffs. So really, who the frack cares about President's Trophies and Jack Adams awards. Those are REGULAR SEASON accolades. And this team needs a coach who would happily trade all of that for 16 wins come playoff time.
