I don't know whether I should start to panic or just take a deep breath

Panic, then take a deep breath.

Personally I'd take a deep breath then panic. :P

a 10 million dollar goalie should be able to steal a few games.

5.33 million dollar goalie. How about the 65 million dollar team infront of him scoring some damn goals.

At least Torres felt sorry for his old buddies and gave them a free one!

Seriously though, how many quality scoring chances were there really? 2, 3,?

Is Schneids out because he is the one being traded this summer?

It's wierd that Cory says he's fit yet isn't even the backup.....

Regardless of Lu, we need to score more than 1 goal. In fact I think we need to score more than 2 goals to win

There's no way this is just game playing for trades etc. There is something wrong.

Why pay him more than his cap hit if he doesn't perform like it?

He performed just fine last night. Even with Schneider in net, he'd have to pitch shutouts every night just to give the team the chance to win if they continue to play like they have been for the past two post-seasons.

Hopefully he gets a few shutouts in this series to help us win, seeing as we are having trouble solving Niemi the Sharks should have trouble solving Luongo.

Why is he a 5 million dollar goalie when he's averaged 8 million over the last few years? He is getting his money in advance of performance and isn't living up to it.

I'm sure the management is just thrilled about their 5 million dollar keeper that the'll pay 7 million per year for 10 years.

Luongo was not the problem last night, and he was not the problem last year vs. LA. It should be obvious by now to anyone who has watched the games.

They need more shots, period. Shoot more, hope for bounces and maybe some quality scoring chances will happen. Everyone seems to have a death grip on their sticks and are looking to make a pass before shooting.

Cory's got a groin strain. He didn't even practice with them today apparently (as per Canucks Twitter). But no matter what the little men whisper to you from the Internet, it's not a conspiracy or special code. It's just an injury.

Being that they told Luo he was starting the same day Cory said he was ready to go but had to get the coaches okay, he may have said he was fit because they didn't to tip their hand about which goalie was going to be in net too soon. It simply could have been him trying to give his team any advantage he could.

He was average and everyone in the world would think that we have an improvement in the wings waiting to get healthy.

deny that he's ever been paid 10 million ?

wait, a 7 million dollar paycheck means he can play "average" NP.

Fun fact: the Sedins have a higher cap hit than Luongo

but they get a free pass right? They shouldn't be relied on to "steal" games

I am a Luongo supporter always have been always will be, but really sick and tired of our GM Mike Gillis who just lies through his teeth every year to our faces. Last week Gillis was quoted on this, if this was a playoff game Cory would be playing, seriously Gillis don't even talk anymore because you lie through your teeth all the time. Just like trading Cody for Kassian who you said was a good trade because Kassian was going to help us for our cup run? What? I think you've been in B.C. to long the smoke fumes are really getting to your head.

I could care less who starts. It's nice to have a superstar backup goalie. Wish we had some superstar backup forwards as well.

The Sedins don't have some screwed up 12 year contract which is going bite this team in its a-- down the road.

Goaltening won't be the problem in this series. It's the scoring. I'm happy for Luongo to get this chance, although disappointed for Schneider that he isn't playing.

Something is fishy about this whole Schneider situation. He said he was good to go and now he isn't even dressing as a back up.

He's being paid $6,714,000.

He stole games in the Boston series, in which we scored a staggering 8 goals.

30+ million dollar forwards should do something.

Agreed - our only goal last night was scored by a former Canuck - Torres...

Fun Fact: Sedins for years have needed a big power forward to take the pressure off them, especially for playoffs, and for years they haven't been given that type of player, horrible GM.

Actually, we hit 2 posts and the crossbar twice...and one just flipped over and bounced off the top of the net...

The real question is - how many chances did we squander? Daniel blew a 1 timer not once but twice....

Not saying there were none - just no where near enough. Even 5 scoring chances against a good goalie isn't going to translate into enough actual goals to win.

So why have a low cap hit and a high paycheque?

Would you rather a ,million now or a million in 10 years?

I'm guessing by your posts you'd expect Luongo to skate the puck end to end and roof a couple top shelf to compensate for the poor showing the forwards had last night?

Or that if the Cancucks lost 1-0 in OT last night the sole fault of the loss would be Luongo?

Clearly not his fault. The lack of goals scored by this team in the playoffs since Game 1 of the SCF against Boston has been the most troubling stat.

By the way learn how to spell SHIRIKOV who is this shirakov

Amazingly on his first shift Kassian would have had a breakaway if Kesler knew how to pass. And he still got switched with Weiss. And note it is "Weiss" not "Wise".
