spook007
What? When did I say that? My point of view is that he should have played the body instead of slashing him in the nuts. There's a code in hockey, and there are plenty of ways to slash/punch/hit/fight people that are within the code. For example, biting is not within the code. People therefore shouldn't bite their opponents. However, it's ok to cross check someone. I'm not saying it won't earn you 2 mins, I'm saying it's within the code. When I said "it's kind of funny then when people start crying about Canucks players getting slashed and no penalties being called", I was referring to about 80% of the people here who whine about the refereeing and "classless" opponents, all the while thinking the Canucks never slash anyone or that if they do, it's warranted. I'm quite happy with my life, thank you for your concern.
La Mauviette75
Point being that codes of conducts has brought us nothing but bitterness. Constant no calls, so now taking a page out of the Bruins and Kings playbook, to get the same advances as the rest gets.
Heretic
Farhan Lalji @FarhanLaljiTSN54m Burish on Bieksa's 'poke' that put Havlat out of game 1 & 2, "Doesn't suprise me, coming from him" Then I read this from earlier in the year from Bolland about Burish: "We just tune him out now," Bolland said. "We just don't even listen to him anymore."
poetica
If he really does miss this game because of that incident alone, Havlat should ask Salo what brand of cup he wears so he can upgrade...
Vicky
This is Havlat we're talking about. Dude can barely step on the ice without getting hurt.
Underachieving Hero of CDC
Looks to me like Bieksa is looking the other way when he did it...probably didn't even mean to get him there.
marleau_12
Get over it. It happens. Gotta play a lil dirty to win. ie: Bruins 2011
FireGillis
I don't get it. Coupled with the fact that he's wearing a cup and bieksa's stick didn't even hit him that hard, how do his balls get injured?
Canouver
This is the playoffs. Players do little shots like that all the time. It might be on the wrist or behind the knee but it happens. Havlat was wearing hockey pants and a cup I don't think beiska thought he would break his nut.

Nevlach
Oh noooss someone used a stick to hit someone in hockey?? Bieksa barely got him too. Cheap ya sure. But I mean suck it up, everyone gets canned now and then.
oldnews
I'm sure it hurt but if he's really out for the game tonight there had to be something else wrong with him that they're hiding. We've seen players return to a game after way worse than that. No way did that cause enough damage to keep him out of a playoff game! Remember, Salo took a Duncan Keith (man, do I hate him!!) slapshot off the personal cup and had to leave the game to be taken to the hospital with a suspected ruptured testicle. When they realized it was "only" bruised, he suited up and played the very next game. Now, Havlat might not be Salo tough, but I doubt he's that much of a baby that a little stick action knocked him out without there being something else (hip issue?) going on. -DLC-
Good role model. An eye for an eye. If the refs did their jobs, it wouldn't have me feeling this way. But desperate times....
Tearloch7
Can't express how much I love the phrase "might not be Salo tough". That's a standard few can live up to.
The Colt 45s
It is a hockey play. How is it KB's fault if Havlat was not wearing a cup?
