La Mauviette75
Totally foul. Celebrating any player's injury is horrible. Then again, it's the Sun, I'm not surprised.
Mountain Dew
The irony in all of this is Ottawa's reaction to Karlsson's injury.

DD_Bwest
has anyone actually read the articles contained the paper? the hit was by far the biggest piece of news in the nhl yesterday, it completly over shadowed the game itself. They have to cover the story in some manner, and the picture will not only grab everyones attention but have everyone talking about it. this is an era where news papers are dieing and they have to do what it takes to stay in business how does simply pointing out the injury in a shocking cover celebrate what happend? all it says is "first blood ottawa" and even at the bottom of the picture it says "sens take opener, but all talk on 'the hit'" how is that a celebration? its pointing out the biggest hockey story of the night. unless someone can post an article from the paper that actually celebrates it in anyway, this is not only fair, but brilliant. if a newspaper has a graphic cover from syria, and says "assad takes out more" does that mean they are celebrating it? Mr. White
That's just tasteless. I'm sure there are many better pictures to put on the front page. The media is so corrupt these days

Spitfire_Spiky
I'm gunna go with foul. While the hit was clean the aftermath of a half conscious Eller getting up from a pool of his own blood just doesn't need to be pasted on the front page of a major newspaper. DD_Bwest
"Drawing first blood" is a colloquial phrase used to describe the side that is winning. If a team scores first, often play-by-play or colour commentators will describe this as 'drawing first blood". To use a colloquial phrase literally in order to insinuate that Ottawa won because a player was lying on the ice bleeding is pretty classless. Winning is based on the score, not how much blood is drawn. Use a different title, like "vicious check" or "Series changer?". Don't try to make injury and winning synonymous. EDIT: I also did not like Paul McLean's comment where he blamed Diaz. With a terrible injury like that, there is no need to blame the dman. avelanch
hilariously classless. I can't believe that even a tabloid-style newspaper would use that as their front page.
