Changes To Make If Canucks Are Out 1st Round

If we're out in the first round that'd be tough to handle. Especially (I imagine anyways) for the "fans" that started asking these questions one game in to the playoffs. Imagine a world where Vancouver didn't get to game 7 of the SCF every year. If I were you, though thankfully I'm not, I'd probably support another team. The Tampa Bay Lightning are really lacking depth in the armchair GM position.

- AV gone, get a coach that can actually coach Kassian more appropriately so he can become the top 6 power forward we all know he can be

- Id hope for a Luongo + prospect for St Louis trade to happen, either way I'd like to see a playmaker to play with Kesler, he's just not making enough happen any more

- Roy prolly won't re-sign so we need to get another center, can't think of one off the top of my head but at least someone that can win a goddamn face off... I wouldn't mind if we have to trade Schroeder in order to get one

- get Gonchar to mentor Edler, at least for one year, show him how to direct more pucks towards the net and how to drive into the zone... Gonchar helped Karlsson immensely so no reason he can't help another Swede like Edler

Sedin Sedin Kassian

Burrows Kesler St Louis

Higgins 3C Hansen

Lappy - Weise - whoever that can play left Wong and is a tough dude, keep Sestito for another year maybe?

- extra forwards are Jensen, and maybe Gaunce depending on how he develops

Hamhuis Bieksa

Edler Gonchar

Garrison Tanev

Alberts Corrado

- Booth, Raymond, Ballard, Barker, Luongo, and especially Andrew f**king Ebbett are gone

Ok I will be first to admit I'm not an NHL coach, but this is at least the direction I'd like to see the team head towards

And yes this is a bit premature, because if we can somehow find it in us to play like how we played against Chicago then there's still a fighting chance... Otherwise, if we keep playing like we did on Wednesday, then we are pretty much done

There is a distinct cancer in the locker room that puts the entire team's compete level at an all-tim low, and I don't think AV's approach to "leaving his players be" is hands-on enough to identify it. I think this is partially a result of management's MO.

Therefore, fire Gillis (but keep Gilman), fire AV and crew. Keep Melanson,

Bring in a new coach, and have a players meeting. At least try to pinpoint the negativity in the locker room, and shake it up.

Unfortunately for us fans, there is no way for us to tell where this cancer is coming from, and whether it's one or a couple players bringing the team down, or the entire core that has given up. When you look at the players who compete on the ice, you can see who it is definitely NOT.

It became evident that a cancer was the problem as soon as Roy showed up. He came in playing hard. A few games later, he got dragged down to the Canucks' level, and now he plays like the rest of the team does. I'm not very confident that Roy will even want to re-sign here after seeing how down in the dumps this team is.

No single acquisition is going to fix this team's crappy attitude. We need a new management and coaching staff, and we need a fairly significant shake-up to the core.

AND NO MORE STATUS QUO.

....and for Christs' sake, deal with the damned goalie situation...

What changes would you make if the Canucks get bounced out in the first round with mediocre/stellar goaltending from whoever and lacklustre offense? Management changes? Coaching changes? Trades? Re/Signings? Etc...

Me personally,

Fire MG and AV goes also

Trade Luongo for whatever we can get (regardless of who plays in net and if they even play stellar)

Trade Edler for a top 6 forward like say Ryan from the Ducks

Buy out Booth and Ballard

Sign Clowe, resign Roy

Garrison has been great, Edler has been shaky at best. Keep him for next season though and see how he goes - 2 bad seasons in a row is good enough to ship him out of here. Ballard has to go too.

The biggest problem right now is our core, not our depth guys, but in all honesty everyone is struggling. The coaches need to be under scrutiny - AV last, first we should be pointing fingers at our horrible special teams coach Brown and defensive coach Bowness.

Execute Ebbet & Barker immediately. From everything I've read on here, we'd only be doing them a favor.

Tar & feather AV & escort him outside of the province borders.

Show Pam Anderson the David Booth hunting videos & hope PETA chases him out of town so we don't have to buy him out.

Get Gillis the best optician we can find. Apparently he doesn't have 20/20 hindsight.

Rename Rogers Arena to The Canucks Leisure & Diving Center.

Bring back everyone who ever scored a playoff goal for the Canucks & can still skate. (sorry Cheech, after extensive review you can't get credit for Bure's OT winner)

Send Kassian, Raymond, the Sedins & Luongo to find the Wizard of Oz.

Kassian needs a brain.

Raymond needs courage.

The Sedins need heart.

& Luongo just wants to find a way to go home.

Fire MG and AV, let someone else take what is obviously a talented team and re-shape them into something better.

AV get's out couched on a nightly basis

MG just doesn't seem to be in the old boys club enough to make trades and makes giant mistakes. Chasing Sundin for half a season instead of working the free agent market and signing Luongo to a contract even Roberto regrets Come to mind.
