I don't quite understand why Edler got the most ice-time when he was having such a bad game, did AV not pay attention? And why the F were the Sedins on the ice when they were trying to hold onto a lead

The magic and chemisty the 2011 team had is no longer with the current team. I just don't feel as confident with this team anymore. The Sharks team we destroyed in 5 games that year is way better than this Sharks team. They have Brent Burns who is a defenceman ffs playing on the Sharks top line as opposed to Setoguchi and Heatley...The Twins are making Vlasic look like a Norris trophy candidate... its time for a big change in the offseason if we don't win the cup.

Just not good enough.

If you like looking at statistics to determine who's better, you're just a casual fan.

2.41 season GAA isn't very impressive. Let's not get into playoffs and his SV%.

Cory Schneider is the next Patrick Roy.

AV saw the Canucks score 2 goals in a playoff game and lost it. If he can't win 1-0 it's just not worth it for him.

There are a lot of players due for a goal.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the Canucks explode offensively on Sunday.

Bruuner and dekeyser say hi

Brunner is 27 years old. He's Mayson Raymond and Jannik Hansen's age. DeKeyser is only 23 but the Wings had to make a virtual guarantee of an immediate roster spot to out bid thirty other teams for his services. He's really the only young player that hasn't spent two years minimum on the farm in that org.

The Red Wings didn't have a 1st round pick in 2011. If they did they might be using that player.

They've only had 2 first round picks in the last 5 years, and only one of them is a realistic option but he's still playing in the Calder Cup playoffs (Sheahan).

It's crazy to not be playing Schroeder over Lapierre and Jensen over Raymond after the way these guys have been playing.

First of all the Calder cup never takes precedence over the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Second of all if you say Schroeder should be playing with the Canucks, then Landon Ferraro should be playing with the Wings with Helm out. Detroit system is 4+ years in the Minors.

Raymond > Jensen right now. Lapierre > Schroeder.
I would understand Schroeder > Ebbett.

Kassian played like garbage. Couldn't read plays, was lazy on the puck, and didn't use his huge size very well.

I have to 100% disagree. 11 mins TOI. 4 hits and some good possession play in the offensive zone - both with the Sedins after the PK and on the 4th line with Ebbett-san. 1 Bad turnover in his own zone - that's all.

Kassian played like garbage. Couldn't read plays, was lazy on the puck, and didn't use his huge size very well. Looked more lost than a working class person saying Harper is good for the economy.

At least Raymond tried hard, even if his trying hard isn't great, hence the C...

not sure what game you watched, he was on the ice for the only effective shifts by the twins seperating the defenseman from the puck on multiple occassions. Also if skating the puck to the corner of the attacking zone then losing the puck is Raymonds idea of trying hard then it needs some work since thats the only time I noticed him on the ice.

Also Ebbett actually had a shift with sustained pressure in the offensive zone thanks to Kassian.

I had this burning hatred for Hansen when he missed the empty net, but it seems like everyone but Kesler can't bury a freaking chance.

Go team.

It's clear who had the heart and hustle to will this team to victory and it wasn't the apathetic Sedins. Our top line should be Burrows-Kesler-Kassian. F*** these preconceived notions of team hierarchy. I don't care who played well in the regular season, or who has the most accolades, who's supposed to be 'respected'. The players that are hungriest, the players that leave it all on the ice, the players who want the win the most- those are the players that deserve the most ice time in the playoffs. The Sedins should have been near the bottom when it came to ice time. What did they do? They barely sustained any offensive pressure. They couldn't forecheck, or pressure the puck at all for that matter. They were completely useless in our end. So why are they on our 'first line'. And why in the world were they playing with 1 minute left in the game? I blame AV entirely for that. Our roster should be a meritocracy. If you're playing hard, you get the time.

AV never seems to put blame on "his guys". You can see it in every post game comment.

He always blames circumstances and gives credit to the other team.

And there is no sense of accountability because of it.

At least Luongo takes some blame for the loss. Henrik won't even take blame for his poor pass that lead to a goal moments later.

I can't remember what it was but you had a totally sick prediction earlier this year

I truly believe this man has psychic abilities

I also think that this is the beginning of the end of the sharks, I don't know why I just do.

I am way less upset than game one, I think the team woke up and were victimized by a lucky few bounces.

I really think its going to be a beating on the sharks next game.

tell me again when going post to post ...is failling on your face the most effective move?
He is an athletic goalie who is the best one in the history of our franchise no doubt, but the way our defense plays now a positional goalie is far more effective than a reactionary athletic one who puts himself out of positon sometimes with these amazing saves but can't rely on the defense to come in and take care of the rest.

I absolutely love this post. It actually explains why Schneider is the better option than Luongo(which I still disagree with), but it's nice to see someone make a point of it without using "because he sucks and is mentally weak and stuff "

Overall, I still feel Luongo is better than Schneider, however with the style of the Canucks team and the defense, Schneider is better for the Canucks than Luongo is.

EDIT: It's kind of funny(not haha funny) that everyone is now finally saying the Sedins should go, even though I've been saying this for years and each and every time I say it I get absolutely blasted.

Yes, it will be tough to see their class go and a Canucks team without them just wouldn't feel right, but it amuses me that everyone is now finally jumping on them, kind of in a" I told you so" sense.

There seems like there is some division.
and I get the feeling Kesler is not one of AV's guys and he's ok with that since he doesn't need a pat on the head and a cookie.
i have never doubted his desire to win, or his heart.
Same can't be said for alot of players on this team.
