Not the team we thought

Recommended Posts

We don't have the scoring depth that we thought we did. Guys like Raymond and Ebbet are wasted roster spots. I'd much rather have a guy like Dustin Penner (monster in the playoffs) than Mason Raymond. We are not built for the playoffs. In 2011 our PP backed by 2 great offensive defensemen masked any our lack of scoring. We cant score.

Problem is we don't have many of those true playoff-performers, or quite frankly any guys that have a Stanley Cup ring.

Meanwhile we're playing a team that has quite a few. Torres is the definition of a clutch playoff performer and he's making MG pay for his stupid decision to let him go.

Dan Boyle is racking up the points against us. He's won a Cup in Tampa and knows how it's done. Even Thornton and Marleau are scoring clutch goals - they've won big Olympic titles and understand what it takes to win at the big level.

The Canucks only playoff performers right now are Kesler and Bieksa. We got rid of our depth, clutch scorers like Samuelsson and Torres and now have guys like Raymond and Hansen who are nowhere near as clutch.
