Luongo's net, Luongo's team.

Look, I love lou and was a supporter of him for a very long time. Yes, he's playing good this series, but the bottom line is that he is still letting in 3 goals per game. No matter how you want to sugar coat it, that's too many. He needs to have a magical tim thomas, hasek or giguere like playoff run one year and it has just never happened.

This was the year we got to see what schneider could do, but he got hurt and we're getting the same luongo show we've always had. We need some games of just 1 goal allowed and not these, well he played great, but still let in 3 goals games.

Luongo has played good but Schneider is simply a better goalie. Schneider is perhaps the best goalie in the NHL right now. The only reason they made the playoffs and won the division was because Schneider stood on his head down the stretch. Luongo has filled in admirably but he is having problems with rebound control right now and the Sharks know this and are throwing everything at the net and looking for rebounds. I have little doubt that the tying goal last night would not have gone in against Schneider. Not saying Luongo hasn't played well but he is still a notch below Schneider. I think this series is 1-1 right now if Schneider is in net.

Luongo's reaction time has slowed and positionally he is much weaker than Schenider. The bottom line is he as given up 6 goals in 61 shots so far this series which is barely over a .900 save percentage and is pretty close to where he was at during the regular season. Schenider had a save % of .927 on the other hand and he just makes things look easier. Luongo overcommits and gets himself out of position more.

Ok lets talk about the goal that tied it. Again, poor execution on his butterfly. How many times does he have to get beat low to convince you guys he is terribly flawed sealing off the bottom of the net? Torres goal....burns was looking pass all the way in, his stick was not in a shooting position but in a pass first, in front of him , not to the side. His eyes were looking at Torres and Lou had to pick up on both the stick position and his eyes. He was too far out to be able to make a save and his slow , (read poor) lateral movement only allowed for the stretch flop that he does. He has, in the past 2 games made some great saves, but most are a result in being in bad positions in the crease. Other goalies, those saves are less dramatic and pretty much routine. Sorry, with Lou in net, we are toast.

Everyone blaming Luo, watch the games, could've easily been 3-0 in the first period if not him. If you're gonna blame anyone, can't be Luongo or Kesler. Only one's who showed up. Sedins played better compared to Game 1. But Hansen, seriously, so close :l

Even if you want to keep Luongo long term and trade Schneider in this awful goaltender market, you'll have to convince Luongo to stay...... Sorry to say, Im pretty sure he doesnt want to be here any more. He's gone through the circus as a professional, and has waited long enough. Its time to grant his request. The best part of his excellent showing is that he's making it evedent that he can still play, and do what you want from your netminder, keep your team in games, and give them the chance to win.

While we may not get much in the way of assets back for him, at least he's marketing himself to be a capable veteran starting goaltender with amazing work ethic, and strong commitment to his teammates, reguardless of the situation. Also with how long this circus has drawn on for, his NTC has pretty much evaporated to anyone thatll take him. Someone will come knocking, and this time around, if Gillis comes with a trade offer from anyone, he'll be on board.

Schneider is cheaper, and is 7 years younger than Roberto. This is a no-brainer for the long term success of this franchise.

All that being said, I'd leave Lui in net for the remainder of this series, so long as he continues to play well. If you start Schneider coming off of injury and he looks rusty, you just start up the whole circus again. However, If lui looks shaky and they lose game 3, go back to Schneider, but as far as Im concerned, Luongo has given the team a chance to win in both games thus far, and theres no reason to rush in a rusty Cory untill Luongos play drops off.

Luongo hasn't done anything to convince me that he's broken The Pattern. It looks to me like he's still right on track to do what he always does. He always plays well during the regular season, he always plays exceptionally during the opening 2 games of the playoffs, and he always collapses sometime soon after that. I don't know if the Sharks are a team that is capable of scoring 7 or 8 like the Hawks and the Bruins always did but from game 3 on I'm nervous that we're going to start seeing some really weak goals go in.

Realize the fact that Luongo assumed Bieksa had the pass covered and was more worried about the shot. Luongo knows it's a 2 on 1. Bieksa played the part decent but not good enough and Luongo was thinking that Bieksa already had the pass covered so all he was worrying about was the shot. And no, other goalies would make the same dramatic saves. It's easy for you to criticize now because you can view it over and over again. Pretty sure that you went nuts when Luongo made those saves and you are now criticizing his positioning now that you can look at it over and over again.

Doesn't matter who's in net, if we can't score, we're toast. Take off your Schneider glasses and watch the game like a true Canuck fan and appreciate the fact that Luongo is our best goaltender the Canucks have had in their history. Luongo is always blamed for a loss because it's the easy thing to do. Why do we never blame the Sedins for not showing up? Why aren't we ragging on Burrows for not having any shots in Game One when he had close to 20 minutes of ice time? It's easy to pinpoint the blame on Luongo because he's the one letting in the goals but at the same time, if our team in front of him weren't making mistakes and turning the puck over in our own end, then who's really at fault?
