POPULAR

The Sharks lost 4 in a row after being up 2-0 vs Edmonton in 2006, lost 4 in a row after being up 1-0 vs STL last year, got SWEPT by Chicago in 2010, lost to the 8th seed (Ducks) in 2009, lost 3 straight to the Wings in 2007 to lose the series, and blew a 3-0 series lead vs the Wings in 2011, only to win the series in 7.

When the Sharks lose, they lose in the most epic of fashions (worse than the Canucks). Now I am not saying it's going to happen by any means, but if it would happen against any team, it would be the Sharks.

Thronton and Marleau are minus players in elimination games.

Like I said, odds are seriously stacked against but you never know. Putting a solid 60 together and taking game 4 to start some kind of a roll...but at least just show some life!

We were the much better team in game 2, but a bad (not just Luongo) tying goal ruined it for us. In game 1, we were the inferior team and deservedly lost. Last game, 3 bad goals given up in the 3rd period by a rusty goalie killed our chances. If we get solid goaltending from Luongo (I'm assuming he'll start) and the team can play a solid 60+ minutes, we may be able to climb back into this series.

No more dumb penalties please!!!

Marleau and Thornton don't need to show up. They are simply going to ride Couture and Pavelski. That's probably enough to beat our team. I mean, who on the Canucks has the guts to become the playoff hero?

We have only been the better team in one game. We have to be the better team to win, and right now we are not. To many players just skating around, and too many shots from the outside....

I still beleive we can turn/make this series a bit interesting, but got to play/beat them one period at a time.

Exactly. Just start taking it one game at a time and we might have this series yet.

It's reassuring that the Sharks are statistically more likely to win in 7 than in 4, although I have a sneaking suspicion we're going to lose Game 5 at home. Again.

Simple.

Schneider starts and its Sharks in 4.
Luongo starts and its Sharks in 5.

This team is terrible, Luongo has been the only Canuck to show up consistently all playoffs (Kesler was only good for half a game so far) and is quite frankly the only Canuck who deserves to be on this team. Ironic that he'll most likely be the only one getting moved, and with him the era of Vancouver contending will be over.

Kesler sure led the way, but not one followed. That must be a downer for Kesler.

I think the Canucks can do their part of the refs will do theirs.

But this is old news, we know the Sharks are chokers and it's been mentioned in a couple of threads. It's possible, but we'll have to play the rest of the games like we did in game two (and hopefully better) while getting some luck along the way as well.

1. We're going to blame the refs while losing.
2. If we miraculously come back against SJ though, that would be the key to going all the way. If.

3 teams have done it, lets bring that list up to 4.

Kesler. Even though we lost the game and are likely to losse the series, Kesler's game 2 performance needs to be remembered as one of the greatest playoff games by any chances player. I can't remember the last time I've seen a player carry his team on his back like Kesler did for the 2nd half of game two. Sadly he's back wasn't quite strong enough.

Someone needs to remind the Canucks of this! Either that or spike all their gatorade with kesler's beast mode powers! They need to go out there and play like they own that rink, they need to play with swagger and attitude and re-claim this series!

Canucks playoff history: 2 wins in their last 13 playoff games.

I like your optimism though.

If they can win 3 in a row we can win 3 in a row also and maybe 4 but not the way this team is playing. :picard:

All they need to do is stop overthinking everything, too much hesitations. In a fast paced game such as hockey overthinking will just result in missed chances. Rely on instinct, they play hockey for too long to still heavily rely on their heads to make plays.

What chance do the Canucks have when their coach just decided to bench the best Canuck player this series? (I'm talking about Luongo)
