JohnLocke
How does it work? Would we be in the 15-22 range? Does it take into account who is eliminated first or does it order by regular season points? And where would we most likely end up?

70seven
wrong... i explaned this in the other draft thread... 14 teams miss the playoffs. 8 teams are knocked out in the 1st round. those 8 teams are re-seeded according to the NHL overall standings. since both StLouis and LA have better overall records, the Canucks can do no worse than pick #21. Every team thats above them in the overall standings that gets upset ( hopefully Mtl, Ana) moves the Canucks up a pick.
campers11
Not high as always... no impact player that late in the 1st.

Danthecanucksfan
It's a deep draft so we will get a solid player, not an immidiate game changer or anything like that though

Pears
21st I think. Which is a pretty solid spot considering how deep this draft is.

Captain Bob
Just to clarify, teams eliminated in round 1 and round 2 are grouped together and pick from 15-26. 7 teams had a better record than the Canucks. Chicago, Pittsburgh, Anaheim, Montreal, Boston, St Louis, Los Angeles. St Louis and LA are playing, so guaranteed to pick 25th or better. Here's a break down of number of teams ahead being eliminated in 1st or 2nd round, and where they will pick. 1-25 2-24 3-23 4-22 5-21 6-20 7-19 So currently Canucks will pick between 19-24. Captain Bob
At least 2 teams ahead of the Canucks will be out in rounds 1 and 2, so they currently sit at 24.
spliced
I think they are currently 25th. But if Pittsburgh, Chicago or Anaheim lose before the 3rd round the Canucks pick gets 1 spot better for each of those teams that gets knocked out.
