avelanch
In the Nintendo Direct this morning (happening right now) Iawata just announced that they entered into an exclusive partnership with Sega to make new Sonic games, starting with Sonic Lost Worlds (exclusive to the Wii U and 3DS). It looks like we'll finally get a good Sonic game again. more info to be revealed closer to/during E3.

Guest
Nintendo is developing. and not just publishing it?
Ichijou
I believe Nintendo is just publishing it. Looks like I'll have to be a wii u if it turns out well. I loved Sonic Colours.
Alchemy Time
Pumped for a decent Sonic game. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint like the Sonic games of the last 10 years or so.
TyTy
Jeez they're still milking the sonic franchise?

avelanch
nintendo doesn't usually use the word "partnership" unless they have a hand in the development. otherwise they would have just simply said they had a publishing agreement, like they did with bayonetta 2. avelanch
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/05/...m-mario-galaxy Lots of info on the game. One of the main things though is how they changed the controls. You have to hold a trigger to run when pressing the analog otherwise Sonic will just walk. They made it like this to allow players to explore the world more, rather than just run on a track the whole level. There's also going to be a parkour system. If you're holding the run trigger when running at a wall or obstacle, Sonic will run up it and you can climb on top. Holding the other trigger will make Sonic pull into a ball and he'll go even faster, like boosting. I think that means spindashing is back, but it doesn't actually say. For the Wii U version, the gamepad screen is used for the Wisp powerups. Or you can play an assist mode where a friend helps you out on the Gamepad while you use the Wiimote and nunchuck. Also the 3DS version is going to have full fledged 3D levels.

Ichijou
Looks great to me! I'd be getting the 3ds one for sure, and later perhaps I'll get a wii U. It totally looks like the revival of Sonic Extreme's level design.
