If he is willing to move out west and is a cap hit of 3 to 4 mill, I'd love to get him here. He's around the same age as the Sedins and is a proven goal scorer. I know he hasn't had a good year but neither has the Rangers. You would think he could help out our PP and would be another great weapon to have. He's also a 47.9% faceoff guy. I'd rather have him the Roy. He's a proven leader and winner. In Gillis's words, this was an off year. Didn't he also have Dave Tippett as his coach? That would be great if we get the coach and him.

Cap going down and he's been playing like garbage. If he's not taking 3-4, he's going to Russia.

3m x 3 years and I'd pick him up.

I like Richards but I would have to know who his coach would be. Tippet isn't a lock yet.

I love your name (Tony Romo) (my favourite team) It's great to get younger but I'm not sure Schroeder is our 3rd line centre or can even do what Richards does right now. Gillis is just putting all his eggs in the Luongo deal. I'm sure Richards would be pretty happy to play the wing with the Sedins or Kesler. Could you imagine how many goals he could get with the Sedins? They made Loui Eriksson look pretty good and he was a left hand shot just like Richards.

I don't think it's about the money anymore. If he gets bought out, he'll have a good chunk of money. It'll be more about winning and proving that the Rangers made a big mistake.

He's a 60 point player and someone is going to pay him $5M+ if he gets bought out and we can't afford that.

We could trade a guy like Higgins and replace him with Jensen and Gaunce if we want to get younger. I'd rather have Richards then Higgins. We have enough guys that play like Higgins (Burrows and Hansen). We don't have too many pure goal scorers.

Brad Richards? You mean the Brad Richards that's a healthy scratch in what should be the Rangers final playoff game this year?

You're right but I don't think it'll be too much about the money. He left money on the table when he signed with the Rangers. He'll want to go somewhere that he can succeed and win. Playing with the Sedins would be pretty attractive, don't you think?

Gillis will have a lot of work to do this summer. The gun is to his head and it's time to prove that he belongs. He'll have to deal one of our d guys to open up some cap space. I believe the Canucks wanted him before he was traded to the Stars? Didn't we have the Aquilinis at the time and Dave Nonis couldn't pull the trigger.

2.5-3 million MAX for 2-3 years..
He is still already going to collect his remaining 47 Million..

if he wants anymore than that, it just shows the greed of these players.

Gillis doesn't admit mistakes. So, we could yet be stuck with Ballard and Booth and an insistance that Kassian is ready, even if he isn't. I'm going to be watching what Gillis does here. Be afraid, be very afraid.

I'd be pleased to get him only if he signs at no more than 3 mill..he is a proven goal scorer, and with a new coach and new team, he might just renovate his career like how Lappy and Higgins did.
