Were we that bad??? First time in a while the winning western team will not of had to beat vancouver to get to the finals...

A clutch playoff performer like Williams would be gold on this team...

They had over 2x the PP's we had, and we couldn't capitalize on the PP's we had. We also couldn't score very much. We sucked this year. No lame excuses.

I thought we played an OK series at best. I felt the same team that showed up in 2012, showed up this year too. AV's coaching tactics were stale with our team, and there were quite a few internal issues within the group (Luongo-Schnieder issue).

Not to mention the fact that we have many players, as well as many within our organization that have continuously started crap with the referee's in the past couple of years, which in turn, doesn't really help our case.

We were that bad.

If you can't kill penalties, can't make timely saves, and can't score when you need to, you're not gonna win many games.

LA is going to get their butt handed to them by Chicago or the Wings. The LA / Sharks series is not nearly as intense as Hawks / Wings. Sharks just aren't that great 5-on-5, and without the refs handing out power plays like candy, they were finished.

It isn't common to have more scoring chances when you are down a man.

Difference was SJ always got the favorable call when anything was the littlest questionable.

Yes, we just suck!

Never think San Jose is that great of a team that will win it all this year, and the lost in the second round further proves that if the Canucks are the biggest choker in the Playoffs, the Sharks won't be far behind in second.

I didn't want SJ to lose - because I find that the LA Kings are a very sketchy team when it comes to calls. That Sedin 'soccer kick' (which it wasn't because it was skate on the ice and deflected in) was disallowed and the guy reviewing it was an LA Kings alumni.

First though, I think it's too common to make excuses about 'favorable' calls. The Canucks did bad.

Canucks took WAY too many penalties. No team taking that many penalties deserves to make it to the second round. A lot of those penalties were just undisciplined/shockingly bad. Rare PP goals and too many weak PKs.

Line matchups were a disaster. Couture totally dominated the Sedins. Sedins were very ineffective. Fourth line had more success than first line.

Defense? What defense? Edler was bad. Bieksa was bad. And those two are on the PP?

Schneider was brutal for these playoffs. Sure he made a few great saves, but there were so many softies, including that OT goal. Absolutely brutal. It wasn't all his fault. AV was a total moron for putting in a cold goalie. I'm glad that he is gone.

Edler on the PP = AWFUL.

Canucks contributed to the screwing over CBJ by letting Minnesota go into OT. Canucks were playing like crap that game.

Basically, I'm a Canucks fan but I'm glad that our playoffs are over. It is clearly a time to move on - AV deserved to get kicked out, along with the assistants.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

The Sharks were getting favorable calls when they faced the Canucks
in the first round. I'm not trying to make excuses for the team, we didn't
play the way we have in the past.

It seems a lot of the media and other fan bases around the league have
labelled us as whiners and divers, but it seemed like the Sharks were
doing that way more then us and they dont get that label. I just dont get
that.

Canucks were horrible this season. Yes, the reffing was atrocious, but nothing was going right for this team. Nobody was firing when they should have been. Bust year, #2.

I'm not denying that there were several BS calls. But people on here are making it seem like they were the 'turning point' in the series between two evenly matched teams.

That could not be further from the truth.

The Canucks are an inferior team with inferior coaching staff.

Bad penalties by the Canucks.

The Sharks really surprised me...as bad as Vancouver was I fully expected them to win this series in 5 or 6 games. Most surprising was how good their defense looked compared to the 2011 playoffs..to the poster on here who told me not to underestimate the impact of Larry Robinson coaching their D YOU WERE SPOT ON!!

they were alright.

Just look at my sig. Look at the games too. Very iffy calls going against Vancouver. Couture got away with diving against Vancouver for some strange reason. I think he was a little surprised none of his diving crap was working in round 2. But yes, 5 on 5, Vancouver >>>>>>>>>>> Sharks.

If we had 23 power plays instead of 10 and Sharks had 10 instead of 24 it be a sweep in 4.

Sharks were good, but we were terrible. If the PP's were even, it wouldn't have been a sweep, but I think we still would've lost in maybe 6. Our problem was you could name players that showed up on occasion, but not once did they all show up at the same time. Kesler went beast for half a game, the Sedins and Burrows had their moments, but none of them could bring it consistently. And then you had players like Higgins, Roy, and Raymond who were completely invisible. We lost two games in OT where one goal by any of those players could've made all the difference. But the Sharks had everyone rolling and we were sputtering and stumbling.

I think SJS were good against the LAK and they were able to keep up with them, which is quite a feat within itself. But we weren't even close to good. We didn't want to play, we expected things to be handed to us... not going to happen in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The fact that San Jose is a good team or not, wins the Stanley cup or not, makes you feel better as a loser? Have some pride man, coming up with excuses to make yourself feel better about losing.
