lol meh...

True story. I broke my arm playing football but stayed in for 2 more plays until I realized it was swelling up...

I think Aladeen is right. With the adrenaline going, 45 seconds isnt that crazy...

although I'm thinking Fibula might be much more difficult than a broken arm...

But the body comes down to whether it keeps going or gives out.

Mentally, humans can play through anything. The fact that his leg or fibula didnt give out tells me what he did is definitely do-able

Heart? The guy couldn't even finish one game after a lil disc rubbed his leg. And his dad is a douche bag... Sorry, still no respect. F the inbred cheatin bruns...

Colin Campbell played some pretty good hockey for the Canucks in the '82 CUP run. Instead of bump'in NHL heads all the time Van should have signed Gregory and got dad back on side.

Yup just like Horton had a life threatining concussion in 2011... Bruins are master spinners to make themselves look good. At best it was probably a hairline fracture and when adrenaline is going most people could have done that too. He is no legend other than having the son of Colin Campbell on your team improves your odds of winning considerably.

I totally agree.

I'll add, and what about all the players the Bruins have hurt, are they Heros? Lots of players play with and through injuries, you don;t hear about them because they are men and you don't see any media parades for them. Typical Bruins, trying desperatly to make themselves the hero's. Give me a break, I hope the Hawks lay these douchers out.

Not to mention the small fibula is a non weight bearing bone, anyone can hobble around while they're leg is strapped up tight with their adrenaline pumping. Its after you take off the equipment and your adrenaline calms down will he start to feel it. Lets see him play with a broken tibia, a bone that actually matters, he won't be playing hero then.

Hey Django, how about you learn not to threaten people on a community board because you don't agree with what they post... try that see how that works for you. But if violence is the only way you know how to comminicate I am sorry that you had such a rough childhood.

He didn't threaten you... What about hinting at posters who disagree with you and calling them gay having a man crush on players? You're a champion...

Hate him with a passion, but that's pretty incredible!

The reason I love Kesler so much is how he can play with broken bones. That takes a lot of heart!

Not in the same ballpark!!!

Regardless, fighting through pain and an injury to not let your team down, does raise respect.

Maybe something Marchand could learn about.

Marchand still better than anybody on our roster.

He had no choice. He was obviously quite seriously injured yet the referees let play go on and made him gimp his way over to the bench after killing a penalty with a broken leg. It's a league that doesn't respect or care about it's players health and safety.

As much as we all hate the Bruins and their players, Gregory Campbell achieved legend status last night for his penalty kill. He blocked a shot, a shot which broke his fibula, and he continued to play for 45 more seconds before leaving the ice!

This guy has one hell of a heart, hate him or not, he earned my respect.

The fibula is a non-weightbearing bone. Meaning he should be able to stand on the leg without any increase in pain (as it does not take the weight of the body through it). It's mildly impressive but I think some of you are blowing this out of proportion.

Apollo is not a real person but a post-bot built by the Aquilini's to create hype.

Just because the tibia bears most of the weight doesn't mean there wouldn't be an increase in pain from putting weight on that leg.

The criteria according to the "AAOS Comprehensive Review" include bone tenderness over the inside or outside of the ankle, age 55 or older, or the inability to bear weight. Patients usually cannot bear weight when there is a fibula fracture.

http://www.livestron.../#ixzz2VpRIF6OG

Patients with this condition typically experience a sudden onset of sharp, intense outer ankle or lower leg pain at the time of injury. This often causes the patient to limp or be unable to weight bear so as to protect the injury.

http://www.physioadv...ysioadvisor.htm

How to spot a broken fibula:
A broken fibula will be noticeable by severe pain at the site. [...]

It should be impossible to walk on your leg without incredible pain.

Just people who have broken what is a secondary, nearly-vestigial bone and lived to tell the tale. I expect most of the pain Campbell was feeling wasn't related to the bone itself, just the effects of Chara's slapper on the surrounding muscle.

Seems quite common. Hear lots of stories after of how players finish shifts, games ect with broken bones. Remember a UFC fight a couple years ago, guy won with a broken arm. Some NFL players making plays on 1 leg and such.

I mean, what's Campbell gonna do? make a b-line for the bench? naw.

Good on ya, but really not that special.

That's fair. I don't know enough about anatomy to judge but it did look extremely painful. Btw, I believe it was Malkin's slapper :)

Stop with the dickish behaviour. If Campbell was a Canuck or a member of any other team you'd be praising him.

Stop with the lame fruit names... follower, just cause someone has an opinion other than the general "rah rah suck down any bs the mass media feeds me" doesn't mean I can't speak my mind. Don't like it? don't read it... simple as that. Learn to try to think for yourself sheepboy.
