One of our biggest issues as it stands is RW in the 3rd and 2nd lines. Winnipeg has a beauty of a guy that rumour has it might not want to play their anymore named Wheeler. So. Simple question. If Wheeler passes up signing in the Peg, is it possible he would be a fit on this team? And if so, how much do you think he is genuinely worth and whose line does he anchor??

He's out for 6 months (which will hinder his development) and he really needs that development. There's already worries that he won't translate to the NHL and he'll end up a huge ass bust.

I'd dangle Edler for Wheeler. A bit more may need to be added.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Wheeler is a UFA, no dangling needed

He's actually a RFA. I could see him playing on either of the top 2 lines but I'd rather go after Kane if we have anything that interests WPG. Kane would tear it up with us.

Would love to have him, isn't he like 6"4 or 6'5 something? The guy would be the power forward we need.

He is 6'5 and he can score beauts. If he came here

Sedin Sedin Burrows

Kassian Kesler Wheeler

That would be amazing

Nobody would wanna mess with that 2nd line. Especially if Kassian can play like we need him to next year.

I would love to add Wheeler plus I think adding Penner as he should be reasonably priced would add the missing elements Vancouver needs. Get something done Gillis.

Sorry, yes he's an RFA I looked to quickly. And yes Hansen does great on that line, but how many Higgins/Hansen type players do we really need? And how many Wheeler type players do we have? Would he fit on the team? What is his worth?

Wheeler is one of my favourites (as you can see in my sig) but I doubt Winnipeg will trade him. Also I doubt Wheeler wants out of Winnipeg given that he has been very successful there and it is close to home (he was born in Minnesota). If we were to pry Wheeler away from the Jets we would have to give up far more than I am comfortable giving up.

Who wouldnt want a 6'5 sniper/PWR forward

See that's what I figured but he's the exact guy the Canucks need. Imagine though, the year we got Ballard we could have had Horton instead who is a Wheeler facsimile and a playoff beast. This is the exact kinda player we need in our lineup and while he might cost a bit more than comfortable giving up, i'd kick the tires

He would be perfect for the Sedins. Big and crashes the net. And can put the puck in too

I would love Wheeler in our top 6, Fast big and is getting better still.

Even though the past two seasons he has shown a lot of improvement I would not trade Edler for him.

I would trade other assets for him, and I am not sure what his value would be considered, yes Evander is more desirable but would take much more to get.

That top 6 would be interesting with booth in the mix as well, could do a lot of line juggling to find the right combos, nice idea, Wheeler would fit in great!

Penner, are you kidding me, he injured himself eating pancakes, thats worse than getting bit in the nads by a snake. Penner would piss off CDC so much during the regular season and who knows if he shows up in the playoffs.

Too bad it won't happen. He's a beast in Winnipeg, a great teammate, fans love him, and there have been no "rumours" of him not re-signing. If he receives and offer sheet, the Jets have a lot of cap room to match. Wheeler is not going anywhere, and certainly not for Edler.

Wheeler may be 6'5" but he's skinny for his height. He's not a power forward he's a tall finese gut. We have a lot of those already!

You have no clue.

We have ZERO Wheelers.

"What players need is the right kind of strength and power. That includes learning to understand that leverage and positioning can be just as important as raw strength when it comes to winning battles in the game. It's more about timing and athleticism --and avoiding injury--than it is about how much you can bench press. I don't know how many times I've seen a guy with the physique of a defensive end line up a guy half his size, only to bounce off when he connects. Sure, there is room in the game for big guys who can throw their weight around. But for the most part, players are smart enough to see them coming--and strong enough to protect the puck when they arrive. There are trainers out there who know how to devlop hockey-specific strength--though a trainer can help only if a player follows the program. All too often, I've seen players sign up with the best trainer, but not show up for their workouts and never to reap the benefits."
