Spotted Zebra
HE also just reported that Tortorella himself was getting strong consideration from the Canucks, for their Coaching job. If you thought Ballard wasn't playing before...
Mike Vanderhoek
AV in New York would be a great fit. Any team looking at AV as an option is looking in the right direction.
Ossi Vaananen
Don't really care where AV goes, the rangers especially would eat him up and spit him out. As per the canucks, I really hope we don't go with torts.

canadiangunner
Typical nucks fans...all have a love affair with AV now that he's gone. When AV was here everyone wanted his head.
timberz21
I know he's a bit of a nut case, but why not? He's a coach who can whip our players into shape.

timberz21
Apparently now the Canucks also had discussions with Jacques Martin !! OMG what is MG doing. Torts and Martin really. I know he wants to explore every scenario but come on. We need a change, Jacques Martin is similar to AV only even more boring.
Kryten
I don't know whether or not hiring Torts is a good idea or bad idea. On one hand, hiring a more subtle, polite neighbour of a coach with a differing hockey philosophy to AV could be what pushes our players into playing solid hockey once again. On the other hand, if our team is destined to suck regardless of who gets hired, I would prefer it to be a coach who at least has some entertainment value. And who can say how the team would react to Torts anyways (except for the players of course)? Conundrum.

Tangelos
I wouldn't mind torts. Plays a solid defensive style, has 1 more cup than AV, and will give ice time based on players' play on the ice and not their name.
aGENT
Hoping this is just a "covering all bases" move by MG. Really don't want Torts here.
Warhippy
Sweet. It isn't like we want the twins to re-sign here after or anything. Think scoring is low now? wait until Torts implements his awesome defensive style of play or benches the twins 5 games for not blocking a shot in the pre-season. You'll wish Tippett and his exciting style of up tempo hockey in comparison was here
