Te@m1040
I HOPE we see some changes weather trading luongo, a big splash with trading Edler. But deep down I have a feeling that nothing will happen and we'll blow our 1st rnd pick on a 3rd line center.
DeNiro
No! Please don't trade our 1st for 2nd round picks. The first round is the only round we've been consistent in. And he's talking to teams about Luongo? You don't say?
Blömqvist
Trade down?!?!?!? MG should trade up!
Lipschitz
Mike Gillis is truly an enigma. That an a buffoon. Why does the TEAM 1040 even interview him? Why does "Nasal Drip" Sekeres still work on radio with that muppet voice?
theminister
I don't know, trading down my not be the worst thing to do if we can get two picks early in the 30s. Looking at the order though, there isn't a team that currently fits that bill. ( Sorry, wrong, Mtl at 34th and 36th) I would flip our 24th for CBJ's 27th and 44th though. That would make sense for us. Maybe with Dallas at 29th and 40th.
Tearloch7
People who expect Gillis to go on-air and reveal anything must be smoking something illegal .. I think Gillis just goes on 1040 to troll his detractors, and it works .. bunch of butt-hurt babies ..

theminister
Also Anaheim at 26th and 45th could work. Ana - 26th, 45th Mtl - 34th, 36th CBJ - 27th, 44th Dal - 29th, 40th. No one would do these trades? I think we could get two very good players at each of those spots.
Peaches
I get that you guys at the top of the thread are trying to be funny, but a lot of people rely on the posters who post recaps of what MG really says and we'd rather not sift through half a page of fake quotes, sometimes unable to distinguish the two. Guest
I think he is telemarketing the league. MG: You want Lu? Tallon: No thanks. MG: You want LU? Yzerman: No thanks. MG: You want Lu? Sakic: No thanks. MG: You want Lu? (Insert GM name): No thanks.

TACIC
Honestly, at this point that's probably what's going on. I have a feeling they'll have to buy Lu out
Blömqvist
Give him credit. He realizes that the demand from other teams to trade up is higher than to trade down, so if his 24th is for sale he may start a small bidding war which may in the end favour us. EDIT: I wish he would take the same approach with the goalie situation, since everyone wants Schneider...

aGENT
My prediction: NHL GM's have colluded against Gillis and are refusing to trade for Luongo. Gillis maintains his optimistic arrogance, keeping his head burried in the sand, and refuses to buy Lu out missing the buyout deadline. Gillis puts Lu on waivers and no one touches him. Lu remains with the team come training camp and refuses to report. Canucks then try to void his contract in an attempt at a clean break for both parties. NHL steps in and argues CBA circumvention attempt. I don't think we're done yet folks!

aGENT
I can't see it this year though. The draft is too deep. There's no way mike can't find a player he wants in the first round
theminister
That's not the question. The question is, can he get two players that are almost equally as good for that one good player.
