Horvat on the "fourth" line against the Russian. Thats pretty much 4 x 1st line though. But surprised he's not paired with Domi.

Anderson/Laughton/Rychel
Domi/McDavid/Brown
DelColle/Gaunce/Nastasiuk
McGinn/Horvat/Kosmachuk

I wouldn't look too much into lines. The coach will play the lines that are going. Any one of those could become the first line.

Nice to see Gaunce centering one of the best players in the OHl right now though.

Subway series OHL 2 - RUS 5

Watched part of 2nd period. Commentators seemed to say Horvat was having a good game. However he ended a -3.

if you break down the -3 its not so bad.

one - was the empty net
another was because the russians scored a short handed goal. that's usually because the defenseman didn't hold the line. (see erhoff in game 7)

so really its like a -1. take into factor that he is centering the weakest line too.

He did have a strong game. had the puck a lot, protected it well, was a physical force, dominated the face-off circle. His penalty killing shift after the Russians went up 2-0 was (I believe) a turning point at that time with the energy and o-zone pressure it has. Canada scored shortly after.

I really liked what I saw.

I watched the entire Superseries game. Horvat was very noticeable. His -3 is not at all an indication of how he played. Hell, Laughton had better +/- but boy, was he ever frigging useless.

I found this goal he scored against Oshawa and it is a beauty of a goal!

Who made that video my ears almost popped off from the music.

I had my speakers on full because I was trying to hear a reporter asking torts a question....

I found this interesting... On right now is London vs the Erie Otters. Whats intriguing is that McDavid got moved from centre to wing because he's lost 5 faceoffs in a row vs. Horvat.

Als, he's 13/15 for faceoffs tonight. Beast.

Horvat coming up big in an important game.

A goal and an assist, plus an insane night in the faceoff circle.

I think dal Cole is a can't miss pick this year. He generates so much when you watch those cassels higlights.

I'd be okay with getting Dal Colle. In order to have a run next year or the year after or the year after that. or even after that.

Can't ask more from a guy than that. Horvat looks to be our Toews...

Future sure looks a lot brighter with him in our system.

Funny how many people on here said hunter bustkaruk was the better to prospect and more NHL ready.

Like others have said, he's way over ppg this year while having less offensive talent up front and playing shutdown role. It's awesome

Check out his stars for November, it's ridiculous and he's moving up ohl scoring fast.

Aaron Rome 1 goal in 114 games and oh yeah 10 assists. Thats 11 points people..that's a decent .0964 points per game average. He's a power play expert at turn overs and wide shots. He's a depth defenceman for anyone looking to win the stanley cup. A key here is he is very slow and takes timely penalties because he is an expert at head games. Clearly the most underrated underachiever of all time. He also has a mean 5 oclock shadow. MMMMM Aaron Rome goes down smooth like an unshaked can of Guinness that has been in the garage for awhile. MMM Aaron Rome put him on your powerplay, let him kill penalties, a stud...a steed... half cro magnon man part time bowling champion but supremely talented Defenceman. Rome for the Norris! I think Rome was solid like Rory Fitzpatrick or Eric Weinrich...Rome could use a yellow visor for that matter ...really give him the edge

Shades of Patrice Bergeron if you ask me.

McDavid draws a lot of comparison and hype like Crosby. Bergeron played against him in junior and also in the NHL - shutting down the best player while quietly scoring goals as well.

Toews and Bergeron are similar players, but Toews is a little better at everything. I don't see Horvat making the same impact as Toews, but I could see him being a similar player to Bergeron.

Or Bolland. I know people hate him around here, but in 2005 Bolland was on the London Knights team that shut out Sidney Crosby's Rimouski Oceanic to win the Memorial Cup (Different personality wise, but the skill set is similar).

Actually, looking at Toews numbers... Bergeron is more like Horvat now that I look at it. Toews is quite abit more offensively gifted.

Even being compared to Bergeron is fantastic. These players win cups.

Really? I thought he did. My bad. I must have gotten confused because they won the WJC together and assumed they played against each other in junior.
