tyhee
Really looking forward to seeing him in Utica, hopefully before the end of this season! It's something that's easy to look forward to. It's quite likely that Canucks will let him star this year in the CHL, play the WJC for the USA and play the playoffs (possibly the Memorial Cup) for Oshawa, which from the start of the season looks to have a really good team. That would all be useful experience for the future.

It should be a long fruitful year for cole.

Guest Dasein
I've got a little higher expectations for Cassels than that. Not that I'm expecting him to become a bonafide number 1 center with an amazing plethora of offensive abilities, but I'm hoping he'd at least be a good two-way centerman who can average around 50 points per season. Bolland on the other hand only came close to 50 once in his career. (47 pts. in 08-09) The only problem with Bolland was his injuries imo. He would have hit 50 easily a few times had he not been injured so often. If Cassels can be like Bolland minus the injuries, we have a very good player in our hands. Btw, Bolland scored 57G73A 130P in 59GP in his final OHL season. Almost a goal-per-game and well over two-points-per-game is nothing to sneeze at. DeNiro
A couple more assists tonight for Cassels in a 5-2 loss. He continues his point streak though.
Canucks1219
Just... wow. So Cassels has had points in 12/14 games so far. Of those games, 10/12 have been multipoint. 1 = x2 2 = x7 3 = x2 4 = x1
TheSnipeshow91
Just imagine how great Cassels would be if he bulks up. When was the last time a prospect of ours put the team on his back consistently. And he's not riding his stats off of someone.
DownUndaCanuck
Cassels, McCann and even perhaps Vey are making a serious play for the Canucks top-2 center positions once Henrik and Bonino slow down their place. The Sedins are proving they've still got great scoring ability but Bonino is probably better suited to a 3rd line center duty, and Richardson/Matthias really are no better than 4th line centers. That means that we'll have the next 3 or 4 years to slowly transition from Henrik-Bonino-Richardson into something more along the lines of Cassels-Horvat-Gaunce, with McCann and Vey likely to have to play wings along with Virtanen, Jensen, Shinkaruk and Kassian. That's a pretty stacked top-9.
Derp...
Bonino the Beast should probably stay at 2C for a while. What a bargain so far this year cap wise. As for Cassels. Any guy that can put up 2 points per game in junior and be called the player most opponents hate playing against is someone you want in your lineup. Can hardly wait to see how his game translates to the AHL next year. Wouldn't be at all surprised if he gets a few games in Vancouver next season for Injury relief. Can't remember when the last time was that our farm team, and our farm team's, farm team (Kalamazoo), looked this strong.
DeNiro
Utica should get even better next season with the addition of Cassels, Subban, Horvat, McEneny, Fox, Cederholm and possibly Hutton. That team should be pretty stacked.

avelanch
Not sure why they would do any different. not sure how they would do any different... he's back in junior already, there is no alternative at this point (aside from team USA not inviting him to the WJC for some stupid reason)

I'm hoping they can all go far in the playoffs down there. if markstrom continues to play the way he is right now, he'll never pass through waivers again. he'll be guaranteed to be picked up. we benefited by him having a pretty crappy year last year (and the year before it), that won't happen again. Markstrom is an RFA this offseason. Is he not eligible for a two way contract? Not sure if waivers still apply.

Junkyard Dog
Hi contract has zero bearing on his waiver eligibility. Then we will have to trade Markstrom or Lack by the draft.
