ALTtimegreat
Been hoping for Gillis to provide LEGIT 2nd line wingers for kesler for 2 years now. The canucks are a one line team with the sedin line and after the 2011 playoffs, other teams have figured out to just check kesler on the 2nd line unit and dont even bother with his wingers. Booth - Kesler - Kassian might work at times during the regular season but this is not a consistent, dependable 2nd line unit. Come playoff time, other teams top defensive pair will just shut down the sedin line and the canucks will struggle to score goals once again without a legit 2nd line wingers to play with kesler. Gillis you have the entire summer to find a legit winger for Kesler. ie: Bobby Ryan in a package for Edler Package or something. Higgins, Booth (preferrably trade/waived when he returns) should just stay at the bottom 6 and not stick them into top 6. It hasnt work before and Kassian..he may or may not play as a consistent top 6 winger yet.
CanuckRow
Nope, because this management is way too fixated on a third line centre and fourth. Non existent 2nd line will continue, very frustrating.

JE14
If he had an ounce of intelligence he would realize we could get Iginla for the same price as Booth (give or take 500k).
LeanBeef
Clowe would be perfect, but we don't have cap space
TheRussianRocket.
No. We're not going all in for the Cup so the team we have right now is basically the team we'll see at the regular season despite maybe a few FA signings. Other than that, this team is building from within and our top prospects will take over in a few years.
aGENT
If Booth can stay healthy and/or one of the prospects steps up, yep. But as you might have read in one of the other 30 or threads...we don't have cap space to sign a top 6 UFA.
nuck nit
The Sedins have carried this team for so long. How can any other NHL team operate without a solid second line? No cap relief and a defensive center is needed, along with a second line winger to go with the Booth/Kesler experiment.

Angry Goose
I thought Kassian and Booth on the wings were very good last season. Kesler between them would be a tough line to play against. I'd like to see them play a regular season together to develop chemistry. HIggins and Hansen on the 3rd have proved to be a potent third line as well. ninja321
IF booth is healthy and produces like MG predicted he would when we traded for him he is a legit 2nd liner for us
Dragonfruits
third line center is more important at this point and the lack of a 4th line top 6 forward were rolling the dice on kassian and booth basically maybe throw higgins or hansen up there

chrisbanks
people cant blame the new cba and the cap comming down for gillis problems of how bad our contracts are .... they talked about it and everyone knew 2 years ago that the cap was going to come down... he gives burrows edler and higgins raises signs garrison to a big contract and he made his own bed......its all his fault the team is in the position its in.... one way out of this is hope sedins take a big pay cut next contract... JE14
Iginla did great against the Bruins. We don't need anymore overpaid players, time to let our youth play for once.
