Brick Tamland
For those who think it's a simple play or not play (like GMMG), that is not the case. He can retire or not report. He can play overseas (signing in the KHL Or Swedish Elite) etc... If he sits, this team is screwed. Trade him and sign Bryz or Theodore etc... Buy him out. He will not be back. CDeM85
Not much substance here, but there is a link to what it seems is only part of the interview on the station's website. It's the first link under the 'Audio' section. http://www.cfox.com/DJsandShows/TheJeffONeilShow.aspx
Legend Killer
well said. Half the people on here have been bashing him and saying he should suck it up. Why would he want to represent a city with such ungrateful and disrespectful scum.
apollo
ungrateful and disrespectful? For wanting him to honour his contract?? You need to look up the definition of those words.

Dragonfruits
You don't disrespect a super star. Montreal did 1% of what we have done to lui to roy and he was gone right away. You don't treat superstars like anything less than a superstar. Period. This franchise likes to crap on their superstars... bure and now lui
Nino
give it a rest about how bad luongo is being treated he was shopped for a year didn't play as many games as he would of liked for 1 year then ended up being the number 1 again after schneider got traded this is nowhere close to the roy situation
apollo
It's a different situation but none the less Roy would have walked and probably before Lou.

TOMapleLaughs
With all due respect to Lu, he hasn't been a 'superstar' in quite some time. This isn't 2007, apollo. But since then we've been rolling out the red carpet. Making him captain, paying him HUGE money (he made more in 2 seasons than what we paid Bure for his entire stay here), and then watching him get lit up in the playoffs. Why do you think the goaltending controversy happened in the first place? Schneider would've been LONG gone if Lu played well. I'm no Lu hater by any stretch, but there's a lot of misremembering and hyperbole in this 'we should all bow down to Lu, we owe him' talk.

DollarAndADream
What is their problem? They saying things that Lu said off the record? There's a reason it's called OFF the record. That is ridiculous. You don't tell the guy it's off the record when you're immediately putting it on the record.

TOMapleLaughs
I have a feeling that the Sedins are going to drum up a lot of drama next summer as well. Seeing as there's a pattern of Canadian teams parting ways with their stars, i can see them heading on. It's going to be tough for Gillis to keep his job. Clark Kent
It's funny how all the fans are forgetting the playoff games against Chicago and Boston. Luongo being upset doesn't change the fact that when it mattered the most, Luongo dropped the ball. If he doesn't come back I will have lost all respect for him. He signed his contract and a better option came along, management planned on taking it but weren't able to, that doesn't change the fact that he signed his contract.
