Mangoes
I think the best available at #9 was Nickushkin Thoughts?
Xbox
The best player would of been Nichushkin Still would rather have the Canadian Horvat
Caboose
Cory Schneider, apparently.
Drouin
Bo Horvat. No way was it some Russian who would've gone to the KHL if he didn't get a spot in the NHL right away. You have to earn your spot, you have to work hard for it, can't expect stuff to be handed to you.
shinkaruk98
why is this a thread? There's so many out there in which you could have asked this question in it. Horvat was the best option considering Nichushkin is a huge risk. Edit : Give it a rest Tiger.

Pears
WHY must there be a Horvat or Nichushkin thread every other day??? Bo Horvat was the best and safest pick at #9. Now that this question is answered PLEASE stop making multiple threads on this subject.
5Fivehole0
PPG wise NichIcantspellhisnamewithoutlooking For what the Canucks needed? Horvat Nichasksgdsdg wouldn't have cracked the line up I don't think unless he was god-like, and if he was, he would have been taken in the top 5 :\. Horvat was the better/safer pick and was what the Canucks need... Depth down the middle = depth down the wings as well.. You can never have too many people taking face-offs. Katobaron
Best available prospect that benefits the organization in the long term (taking into account risk/reward factor) - Horvat Best available prospect in regards to pure skill, talent and overall potential ceiling - Nichushkin The Canucks are not in a situation to be gambling on prospects hoping the dice land the right way. If given the option to trade Schneider for either a guy that: A.) Has a 50/50 chance of becoming a Jordan Stall or a Taylor Pyatt B.) A guy who's much more likely to settle into a type of David Backes character I would definitely go with B
shinkaruk98
Not trading our best goalie for the #9 pick was the best and safest option.
King Heffy
. Luongo >>>>>>> Cory
shinkaruk98
Not even close. It was the 2nd worst trade in franchise history and Gillis absolutely needs to be fired for making it.

Mangoes
To be honest Nickushkin was the best available player but picking Horvat was a real winner pick for the Canucks along with Shinkaruk
Double Vs
Horvat is either going to be the next Linden, or the next Sandlak. I'm leaning toward the Linden side..... I'm just happy we have some good prospects who are going to scrap for a spot at camp. Canucks may have some surprises too from prospects who jump up. Mangoes
The goalie controversy was decided by trading Schneider and clearly Luongo has a way better playoff record than Schneider Luongo has been the Canucks #1 for the last 8 years or so
