You sir, are a quality human being! I think you just described love... 1 1 Link to comment

Haha is there such a thing? In a disposable format, st least. I’m taking the big guy to the vet this morning so hopefully it gets sorted out. Part of me hopes he gets a cone cause I think he’d look hilarious. 1 Link to comment

Popular Post Kragar
Here's our poor puppy. This was taken after the final game with the Oilers, prepping for her nightly walk. She was born about within a year of the Sedin's starting with the Canucks, and sadly, she is "retiring" later today. She has been dealing with dementia for some time now, and her quality of life has gotten to a point where it's time. A few years back, worried that our poor ol' critter was cold at night, my wife made some shirts for her. It was only natural to use one of my old Canuck shirts for the wardrobe. She's been a feisty ol' puppy and had a long, healthy life, but it's not fair to ask her to hang on any longer. She's been such a big part of our lives, more than I could have imagined (it's the first time I owned a dog), and she'll be so missed. But, it is time. Thanks for everything, Chloe-dog, you sweet puppy. 1 4 Link to comment
Sean Monahan
@Kragar Sorry to hear about your pup. It really is like losing a member of the family. It sounds like she’s lived a happy life and you’re doing the best thing for her. 1 Link to comment

We were so ready for this to happen, and I'm sure Chloe was too. But it is so hard. It gets easier now... the good memories live on, and any pain and discomfort is gone. Thanks for your support, guys! 2 Link to comment
brilac
Dutchess and me! This was taken a while back. She loves her cat tree! She is my pride and joy! I've had her since she was 6 weeks, and she is going to be 13 in June. 3 Link to comment
brilac
So my little precious cat Sally Jayne turns 13 tomorrow, and today during lunch, I went to the pet store, and bought her this fold down thing that looks like a dog house, 2 of her favorite cat nip toys, and kitty treats. The other bag is on the counter, but this bag, I put it down, and she knew it was for her, and keeps meowing wanting it! Link to comment
Popular Post -DLC-
Junie (Juniper) June Bug Rescued as a wee one, she'd been stomped on by asshats, then left for the crows as she bled from her ears and eyes. Rescuers saw it unfold...were across the park feeding ferals. They got to her in time and whisked her to safety. Her front legs were damaged from the stomping, and would remain splay. We got her when she was strong enough to be moved. She was kept in a playpen at first and, from the start, was a vibrant, playful, beautiful soul. She did not wear the scars of being abused on her heart, as she showed us nothing but pure joy from day one. I learned how to be a trooper from her. She had a boyfriend, who misses her so. After five years of the absolute best years with her, she got sick at Christmas. We weren't too worried...an eye infection but it was awful medicating her. Goop ON her eyeballs, twice a day. Then close her eyelids and smoosh it around. She had no idea what the heck we were doing to her. That was followed by syringes of probiotics and other meds. We had to constantly be "at" her, but it was in her best interest so we trudged on. It was heartwrenching, though, as she almost grew not to trust us and didn't understand why we continued to grab her and subject her to this treatment. We had to, but it tore our hearts out because she was so stressed through it all. "Just a few weeks of it". Turned into much more though. She was so brave, eating right up until she took a turn for the worse...I just sensed she had. And, she had. Damn cancer. It was awful to lose her...after subjecting her to two months of stuff, it wasn't enough in the end. I miss everything about her. She was sweet and ran to me each day when I got home from work. Would binkie four feet straight up into the air she was so happy. Run laps around the room...she loped like a seal on slow speed but damn, when she kicked it into high gear she was a Donovan Bailey sprinter. RIP my beautiful June Bug. It's been 4 months without you but my heart's still raw. 6 1 3 Link to comment
Sean Monahan
So today I got my big guy a little sister. Her name is Betty and I take her home on the 20th. 1 3 Link to comment
Sean Monahan
Full disclaimer: I’ve always been a big advocate for “adopt, don’t shop” but I just didn’t think it made sense to bring in another more mature dog with potential social issues. My big guy has some social problems as it is. I thought I’d be better served getting a pup who won’t come in and butt heads with him (he’s good with babies, human or adult) and won’t have bad habits I need to correct. He met her today and liked her. She was good with him and he with her. Link to comment
