lowest common denominator
Absolutely not. They deserve fair market value as much or more than any other players in the league. Give them some respect. Because the cap is maxed should npot be shouldered by the players, nor should it hamper them to earn what they are worth. They have been loyal players through alot of adversity, over many years aqnd through many organziational changes.
BigRedMachine
Cory Schneider hoped to stay in Vancouver with the Canucks too.
aGENT
Just look at the Alfredsson situation. There's is nothing worse for moral than feeling under appreciated by your superiors. This whole "hometown" discount thing has been over blown imo.
The Coach
This their "Get Paid" contract. They gave the Nucks a deal last go round... The team did not make the wisest choices and now they will be expected to do it all again?
PhillipBlunt
Even though Lifer's post was longer than War and Peace, I agree with him regarding the Sedin's playoff performances. They still do deserve to retire Canucks, being two of the greatest ever. However, they need to find that other gear come April. Maybe bringing in a veteran to help take the load would be ideal. Blue & Green
One factor in Vancouver's favour in retaining the Sedin's for a little less is that their value as hockey players is probably more when they are together rather than separate, however, signing the pair will be unaffordable for most NHL teams next summer. Their best bet to stay together on a contending team is probably Vancouver: 25M to 30M for 5 years a little front loaded.
