Title pretty much speaks for itself.

I'd want the Canucks to look at:

Mike Knuble (42 years old, veteran presence. Has a cup.)

Akim Aliu (Huge 24 year old)

Krys Kolanos ( Big veteran player. Could compete for a 4th line spot)

Wouldn't mind seeing these players in training camp.

Out of those three Aliu. Don't know why Buffalo didn't re-sign him. Kid has potential.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Yes, they drafted him in the 2nd round a couple years ago.

I'd also pick Aliu.

Weird. I always thought Buffalo had him for some reason. Oh well, if we get him their loss our gain.

Would love to see Morrison get another shot. He played great during his last tryout, but of course MG decided to sign Schaefer over him :picard:

His best days are behind him, but he could play a good veteran depth role. Playing back in Vancouver could re-ignite his fire. Plus, Torts could possibly make him play with more intensity.

We've got nothing to lose by giving him a tryout.

Personally I would like to see them take a look at Simon Gagne as he has often been great in the playoffs which seems to be lacking in Vancouver. Would love also to see Brendan Morrow as he has heart and grit. Lots of leadership also. But Gagne would be cheaper. Also either Ryan Whitney for his size and has also been pretty good when in the playoffs. If not him if he wants too much then Hainsey from Winnipeg for cheap.

As much as I love Manny we've gotta accept that his NHL career is over. I'd love it if we offered him a coaching job. I really think he could help Gaunce and Horvat a lot, primarily with their defensive game...

None of the people in the OP's post. Although I do like this topic. I wish we gave Owen Nolan a contract after his preseason performance a few years back.

Of the current unsigned players Morrow for sure.

Big guys like Steckel and Gill are worth a look as depth players come playoff time but my gawd, they kill you with foot speed. Guys like Hall, Eberle, and other speedy forwards are gonna eat them alive skating circles around them.

I know Morrow has seen better days but would provide huge leadership in the room. Could pair nicely with Higgins or Hansen

I say enough of trying to "rest" our guys through the pre-season by bringing in a ton of PTOs. Torts is going to want to build roster intensity and cohesion right from the outset. Don't expect the amount of PTOs as previous years.

I'd also pick Aliu.

Aliu was actually a Chicago 2nd round pick who they traded to Atlanta when they dealt Byfuglien in 2010.

Aliu has bounced around the league and the consistent feedback I've heard is that he has a very poor attitude and work ethic. I think it's best to stay away from guys like this.
