Canadian Olympic Jerseys

awful

No imagination at all.

And lazy. Overly relying on predicable elements like flag and name of country for design. Of course they should be on there but they use them in the most straight boxy mundane way possible.

The Canada flag on the red & white jersey sleeves looks like a dollar store patch I bought before I went backpacking overseas.

“You want to be able to show the world what you’ve created and talk about it in a way so that people can understand what went into it, but at the same time it’s fantastic that people care enough about it that they want to know (early),” says Ken Black, Nike’s creative director for the Olympic line.

“We see what people are saying,” Black acknowledges. “As a designer, you want to create things that create an emotional response.

“We embrace the conversation. The fact that people are speaking about how they feel about a jersey that’s close to their heart and represents their country is a great thing. Our goal is to put the best jersey on the best athletes and have them go down in history with a performance in Sochi.”

Canada's jerseys include 12 golden maple leafs on them - 1 for each gold medal won by Canadian men's, women's, and sledge teams at the Olympics.

The US's jerseys will have patches commemorating only the men's wins.

Canada knows how to do it right. How can you not honour the women and sledge teams. Those players are changing lives and inspiring future generations with what they are doing out there.

would be great if they could stick to one design and keep it for a bit instead of giving us a new jersey every olympics world juniors and world championship i have one team canada jersey from 2002 and won't be buying another unless its the 1976 jersey

they can give us the bs licensing issue all they want but at the end of the day their just looking to make money off every even and a different jersey helps
