aqua59
Just like to point out Buffalo's start. Only 4 goals scored, no wins, no nothing. Where's their savior Cody Hodgson? The one that got away.

Tangerines
Buffalo has 5 goals scored and Cody has been in on 4 of them. I'm not all about Cody, but Kassian is a slug 4 nights out of 5. Maybe it's confidence on the ice or something. Bottom line, Kassian does not deserve top 6 minutes. If he can stand out for positive things and work his way up the line-up every night for a dozen consecutive games, then maybe we can say he deserves a shot playing with the Sedins regularly. Otherwise, putting Kassian with the Sedins is a waste of a first line role and you are only doing it to drop some talent to lower lines spread the talent. Sedins should be pushing for some more Art Ross glory, good luck doing that playing with an inexperienced, hesitant, poor decision making attempt at a power forward... All the best for his development though, and I hope he can get us 4 points in 5 games when the team could use it (always).
tonimator#19
sedin sedin hansen burrows kesler kassian higgins santorelli booth gong - show - line - Santorelli although playing good is a center that can fill a huge role on 3rd line and provide secondary scoring there. Because richardson on the 3rd line is embarassing - Hansen adds a speed element that kassian wouldn't to the sedins who are looking really slow out there - Burrows and kassian can be the playmakers that kesler needs on his line - higgins and booth not showing anything that says they should be in top 6 - Schroeder can play on 3rd line and maybe move booth down to 4th line if he doesn't improve
WiDeN
I just hope that Kassian coming back will somehow push Sestito out. I can't stand watching him float. Also, hopefully Corrado comes up since Edler is suspended. Likely not since we have Stanton/Weber/Alberts, but one can hope. Sedin Sedin Santorelli <---Torts seems to like it. Booth Kesler Kassian <---I have liked Booth so far Higgins Richardson Hansen <---I haven't really liked Higgins or Hansen in the top 6 Weise Dalpe NOT SESTITO <---Please no more Sestito My other lines would be: Sedin Sedin Kassian <---Torts will eventually try this Booth Kesler Santorelli <---Kes has been boring, and Santorelli might be the spark plug to get him going Higgins Richardson Hansen <---I have liked Richardson's defensive game and this could be a good shutdown line Weise Dalpe NOT SESTITO <---Bring back Jeff "The Brabarian" Cowan if we have to, but NO MORE SESTITO!!! mrhopeless
I find it highly comical that some fans think Kassian should get rewarded for being a doofus, and getting an 8 game suspension... by putting him on the top line. (Gee; may Sestito should try it.) - even more comical is the ''idea'' some fans have of putting Santorelli on the fourth line.
Canuck Surfer
From a practical standpoint our line up suddenly looks different with Kassian back and Edler gone fer a bit. I do this; Hamhuis Bieksa Garrison Tanev Stanton Weber Kassian helps; Danny Hank Kassian Booth Kesler Hansen Someone else mentioned like Booth, I do too! Higgins Santorelli Dalpe Sestito Richardson Weise Santorelli has looked surprisingly good with the Twins. But we're not winning puck battles on too many lines, so Kassian puts size up front and a hustling center on the 3rd and 4th. or Danny Hank Santorelli Booth Kesler Hansen Higgins Dalpe Kassian Sestito Richardson Weise Why? Because I dislike the Dalpe experiment at 4C. He's a talent player, needs to play on a talent line! Maybe we add his puck control and passing to a line that already has guys who dig it out. Then we can make headway (score !) instead of just register farkin shifts that move the puck from our defensive end to the offensive zone and call it a success according to Hoyle (I mean Corsi)! Or be waived for someone who fits a role on our team. But we really ought to try him at 3C and 3RW before Schredder and Burrows get back. He's a talented guy, but so far has been a complete waste of time experimenting in clearly the wrong situation.

WetPaint
FORWARDS Daniel Sedin / Henrik Sedin / Zack Kassian David Booth / Ryan Kesler / Mike Santorelli Chris Higgins / Brad Richardson / Jannik Hansen Tom Sestito / Zac Dalpe / Dale Weise DEFENSEMEN Dan Hamhuis / Kevin Bieksa Jason Garrison / Chris Tanev Ryan Stanton / Yannick Weber
The Bookie
Our D is such a question mark now. It's already been all over the place with the unusually bad play of Hammer and the usual inconsistency of Edler and Bieksa. Now Eddie's out .... I'd suggest: Garrison/Tanev (probably our most reliable pairing currently) Stanton/Bieksa (noticed Torts trying them together in ... the Calgary game I think? Looked decent) Hamhuis/Weber (in the hopes that Hammer might benefit from less minutes, and be able to cover for the Adventures in Weberland I expect). I Dangled Out Of The Womb
When Burrows is back, I would expect to see the forward lines look close to this: Sedin, Sedin, Burrows Higgins Kesler Hansen Booth Santorelli, Richardson Wiese, Dalpe, Kassian (alternating rotation to accomodate Sestito and Schroeder)
Boudrias
Heck, the kid even has claim to having given the Sabres their only lead in a game of the entire season so far. Not to mention he's steadily improving his defensive game (2nd among all forwards in short-handed ice time on a team that so far has a perfect PK record)... Now if only he and Vanek weren't constantly sand-bagged by the Myers/Weber defense duet who are now last and second last for +/- in the entire NHL, sigh. Oh, but this is a Kassian thread right? (sheesh, sometimes it's hard to tell cuz of how quickly disgruntled fans feel the need to insert a Hodgson bash into anything Kassian....), so moving on... There's a certain irony though... I mean, when those who subscribe to the myth that He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named-When-Talking-About-Kassian "demanded a trade" because his "demands for unearned ice time" were ignored by AV, automatically insert Kassian into the top line when he's dun nuttin' to warrant the opportunity. Oops, digressed again, lol. K, moving along... But who cares about what CDC fans think in terms of which player has paid enough dues to "earn" whatever. Much more importantly for Kassian, and for the team as a whole, is to lay off pushing the kid into a top six role before he's proven ready for it. The Sedins themselves, Kesler, Burrows, etc., etc., etc. all spent quality time on the 3rd line before being put under the 1st and 2nd line microscopes. It wouldn't be a knock on Kassian to give him the same opportunity to actually DEVELOP his whole game, rather than possibly setting him up for failure and subsequent confidence issues. Ray_Cathode
The team is betetr with Kassian playing with the Sedins, there's just not a significant enough drop off between him and Burrows/Hansen on the 1st line. The Sedins have the puck on their sticks most of the time anyways. However, I believe there's a greater drop off between Kassian and Burrows/Hansen on the 2nd/3rd lines. Burrows has the best chemistry with Kesler on the team and Hansen is an absolute beast on the 3rd line. Probably the best 3rd liner in hockey. Ray_Cathode
I agree. I think the fan base gets excited by Kassian's size and the thought that he can deter physical play away from the Twins. IMHO a functioning 2nd line would do as much. Even if Kassian did have offensive success with the Twins I would be concerned about your point of not developing his full game. It offensive upside is obvious but his d-zone coverage often leaves something to be desired. Playing on the 3rd line is a serious option.
aqua59
Kassian will get to play wherever he earns a spot. Torts is already showing (Hamhuis benched, 4th line player in OT) that he rewards those who are performing and executing. I love it! It really builds the team when everyone knows they are truly accountable to the coach and each-other and will be recognized for their efforts. Kassian will be given a chance in the top 6 but if he isn't getting it done, he could be bottom 6 or even sent down. It's up to him.
Stelar
Is Kassian closer to a Lindros/Bertuzzi type or a Bernier/ Momesso type???
