Is Asham worthwhile for the 4th line? $1m cap hit according to Capgeek.

S'pose a lot would depend on Tort's experience with him last year. Anyone have thoughts or insights?

Asham may have lost a step, but surely he'd be better than Stestito?

I'm confused, surely the Rangers don't have a better person to back up King Henrik?

Maybe AV offered him the Aarom Rome treatment and Biron told AV he was straight.

AV got a tip that Weise might be available....

Only guy I really want from the NYR is Brian Boyle.

Biron would be a good backup for Lou. But I guess we are keeping Lack around to see what he's made of.

A Boyle type would sure give our 4th line a hell of a lot of utility.

Asham would be an upgrade in an enforcers role and can also provide clutch scoring in the Playoffs. He is injury prone and Torts only played him like 5 mins per game before, so why not ?I am not a fan of Sestito, Asham can fight, so an upgrade there.

Maybe the Rangers will bring Miller back up ? he has looked great in Hartford and IMO shouldn't have been sent down although I realize they had to get Callahan in the lineup.

Wow. Maybe with this we could do something like Schroeder, Lack, Rodin, a 1st and 3rd for Vanek and claim Biron? He is not gonna last long on waivers that's for sure.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

How do you propose getting Vanek and staying under the cap? Even if Buffalo eats the max salary we'd still be over.

Plus Rodin isn't even under contract and, at this point, is completely worthless.

I agree Asham is a far better player the Sestito and useless Weise and isn't a soft punching bag like those two either.

Would give us more skill, do far more of the little things right and would bring experience and respect.

Improve this team MG sign him up!

Asham would be a solid pickup, so I fully expect Gillis to do what he did in the Summer to improve the team, nothing.

Really I do not think we need either one. Would rather see Simon Gagne if he is still avaliable to be picked up for 1 million. He is what we need scoring. His playoff stats alone should be enough to get him signed.

Asham would be an intriguing pickup, though I doubt Gillis will claim him. I could see Calgary or Edmonton taking a flyer on Biron, they could use him for sure. I'm sure he'll end up somewhere in the NHL.

I'm sold.

What was the sense in waiving Biron though? Isn't he one of the better back-ups in the NHL?
