The first poll is over, and we had great participation on it too. It was kind of a landslide, so I opted to end it a bit early.

Lidstrom won with 66.67% of the votes

H. Sedin had 7 nominations, Markus Naslund was second with 5.

Henrik Sedin was added to the list.

Congratulations to Nicklas Lidstrom for being named the #1 Swedish Player of All-Time!

We are going with the Country the player played for internationally.

Please remember to nominate someone to be added to the voting list!

The List:

#1 - Nicklas Lidstrom

Voting for Peter Forsberg. Again, I don't think I'll have to make much of a case. Suffice it to say that he has 0.9 assists-per-game in his career and 1.25 points-per-game.

Once again, I'm gonna nominate Henrik Lundqvist. He's pretty much undoubtedly the best Swedish goaltender of all-time by this point.

No brainer here Foresberg, one of the best two way players to ever play the game.

Once again nominating Mats Naslund. In 1987 Mats had a 110 point season, becoming the first Montreal player to top 100 points since Lafleur in 1979–80, and the last Canadien to reach 100 points since. In total he scored 634 points in 651 games in the NHL, was a four-time All-Star and was one of the first three members of the coveted Triple Gold Club.

Voting Forsberg. Another easy choice.

Nominating Daniel Sedin. Ted Lindsay, Art Ross, many PPG seasons, we all know how talented he is. Plus if Henrik made it, I'd say Daniel should certainly be next.

Forsberg, nominating Salming, he paved the way to the NHL for all of those Swedish players, and had a damn good career while he was at it.

Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

Despite my username, I'd say Lundqvist has done more in his career than Naslund, or at least, he will have by the time his career is done, so I'm nominating him.
