Apricot
Major disagree. Thomas stole games in the finals. Yes, its a team effort. But Thomas made insane saves and played insane during the finals. Without him=no cup. Its simple.

Dral
Gotta give TT a lot of credit... I still give more credit to Bettman, without him the Bruins don't win the cup
Batmania
A lot of people in this thread quite clearly only watched canucks games during the 2011 playoffs. CJ is a douchy little weasel but he's not wrong. Same reason why Luongo didn't lose us the finals Thomas didn't win them the finals. Took a team; in both cases. Steen
Wow. Is it just me, or does everything that that man says have a tone of something arrogant, can't quite put a finger on it. And I totally disagree, Tim Thomas was freakishly good in the Finals, especially.
Miss Korea Bob.Loblaw
The question was fielded in a way that Julien had to bring down Thomas. This was about backing up his team and his own coaching system.

etsen3
Honestly, not really a surprising or earth shaking comment. What's he supposed to do, throw his current team under the bus by saying "Yeah, our team sucked, he was the only one on our team that deserved to win the Cup"? I don't like Julien but he's just defending his players here. Thomas isn't a Bruin anymore, it would sound ridiculous for him to just agree with the reporters. CookieCrumbs
Ridiculous. Julien is such a hypocritical scum bag.

sabatoge95
He's half right. Thomas played tremendous and was a huge part of that team, but had the benefit of playing behind a rock solid defence. Still weird how he worded it though. The guy's definitely a prick (but then again, so is Thomas.)
King Heffy
Bruins' complete lack of class comes direct from the leadership: Jacobs, Chiarelli, Julien, Chara, Bergeron are all complete pieces of S***. That franchise is an embarrassment to the sport.
D-Money
The Bruins scored quite a few goals in their 4 wins. Thomas was outstanding in all 7 games, but they may have been able to pull it out with a slightly lesser goalie.
Apple Juice
Thomas was the main reason why the Bruins made the finals and beat the Canucks... Not surprised though, it is Claude Julien after all. Classless comment by a classless guy. Can't believe he's on team Canada's coaching staff. Maybe to tell the boys to always defend themselves, as Julien would say it after Marchand low bridged Salo Makes you wonder what a TBay-Van final would have looked like All that mileage and flight times.. Bruins' complete lack of class comes direct from the leadership: Jacobs, Chiarelli, Julien, Chara, Bergeron are all complete pieces of S***. That franchise is an embarrassment to the sport. I agree with everyone mentioned except Bergeron. If anything, Bergeron, Krejci, Eriksson, Kelly, Seidenberg, and now Iginla are pretty much the only respectable Bruins on the team. Everyone else can go suck two fat ones.

No way we don't win.
King Heffy
I agree with everyone mentioned except Bergeron. You consider a guy who's "tough enough" to play with supposed serious injuries, yet is so much of a crybaby he causes a huge incident out of a bite he clearly deserved respectable? If the Canucks manage to score first in game 3 there is a really good chance that whole game turns out differently since really just seemed to fall apart after giving up the first goal. If they win that game they win the cup.
Riviera82
You kidding me he totally got exposed in lightning series he had like 3 6 goal games. The reffing ruined last 5 games in our series too hes no good goalie. It wasn't his best of the 4 series' but be that as it may he still posted respectable(ish) numbers. 2.73 GAA, .915 Sv%, so not quite as bad as a quick glance of the scores would suggest. NightHawkSniper
I think all the sugar from those Dunkin Donuts has gotten to his head, who are you fooling Julien?
Riviera82
Julien isn't very smart I guess. Thomas faced a record number of shots in the Final and only allowed 8 goals, a lesser goalie would probably allow a couple/few flukey ones at least in that situation which may have turned the tide of the series. Thomas was the main reason they won that series against us.
