PlayStation Posted November 15, 2013 Share Posted November 15, 2013 Well the PlayStation 4 drops tonight at midnight or 8 am at some stores, so I think it's time to give it it's own thread, and given my username I felt it was only right for it to be started by myself. Who's getting it at midnight/morning? I wish I could, but I know it is best to wait till I get done with this heavy load of school and pick it up for the summer. Yeah, there have been a couple of reports of DOA units, including IGN, but likely won't know if this will be a widespread issue until it the units actually start flying out the door and into peoples hands. Just checked out IGN and they're saying that some who've tried the reported fixes are still having issues, so who knows. Hopefully for Sony it's a real small percentage. Although, I only really get to play when my brother is sleeping or not home....because I'm assuming he'll be playing it a ton. sedated Posted November 15, 2013 Share Posted November 15, 2013 Looks like Sony has said so far it's 0.4% of consoles with issues, it looks like a majority are dying during the download (Not surprising at all considering how many people are probably going for it), or they have a faulty HDMI jack. If you have a PS4, check the HDMI jack before you put a cable in. Look to see if there's a raised piece of metal inside, if there is, try to flatten it out and it should slide in and work fine. If you run into a bricked one that just won't work, you might have to exchange. There's things you can try to do, like try to take out the HD and enter safe mode, but I'd probably just exchange it since they're doing it for free. So yeah. Check the HDMI slot of the ps4 before you try to plug anything in. You're apparently able to flatten out a piece of metal that's sticking out and causing the problem. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

However, I can't see myself getting it until late next year or possibly even 2015.
