The irony of this, of course, is that the two goals they scored, just like when playing San Jose, is simply a guy going hard to the net getting a centering pass from below the goal line. This, btw, is a play we NEVER seem to be capable of even attempting, much less executing, on our own. Our forwards continue to not be defensively responsible and cover the guy heading to the slot. Blame the Dmen all you want, but, our forwards are responsible for those guys getting into the slot like that. Booth completely whiffed on the 2nd goal. Kesler was late getting over on the game winner.

#1 problem with this team is still scoring. When you lose ANYONE could have played better.. but going 0/7 (before Hank scored his) on the PP with 2 Art Ross winners and a 40 goal scorer is completely unacceptable.

Luongo not getting the easy shots to pad his save percentage.. still made big saves on some quality (if not quantity) opportunities by the Kings.

This game was not Luongo's fault. It was the defensive breakdowns and the continued inability to score goals.

We desperately need another top 6 forward. I really love our D-Core here, but maybe one of them has to be moved out to bring in some more offence.

8 PP chances, and we carried the play for over half the game. It shouldn't have been anywhere near OT

I don't believe I've ever seen a Canuck team play this well yet lose almost every night over an extended stretch of games. Uncanny

nuff said. Not blaming Luong, but he did suck. 3 goals on 22 shots is not good enough, as that result forces your team to score 4 to win, which is not easy boys, that said, the defence sucks too and the offence.

Tank it in, Draft the Vancouver Boy. Get rid of some bad contracts, and move on from there.

Luongo didn't suck.

It's not his fault that our D are making defensive lapses that are basic defensive plays.

I don't understand why people are complaining about the D. They held the LA offense to 22 shots. Dmen will always make mistakes. Great Dmen make them occasionally as ours do. The goalie has to correct for those occasional mistakes. Luongo is not a great goaltender.

Goalies can't be perfect either, genius. If you can't blame the defense for mistakes, don't put all the blame on the goalie either.

I hate to admit it but our team just isn't good enough anymore. We've sucked hard in the playoffs for the last 3 seasons an MG did absolutely SQUAT in the off season and signed everyone to lengthy fat contracts with NTCs.

Can the Canucks just make a deal? Two summers of nothing; two swept seasons; poor play that runs from all last year and then now can barely score? Team shots are deceiving; only a small percent of them are quality chances... Then you have a lack of scoring depth and the Sedins see the top defenders 30 minutes a game...

Gillis is too loyal to his over the hill lineup and hands out a bunch of underserved NTCs. He'll be fired this offseason for doing nothing to improve the lineup

I think I've said everything that needs to be said about Luongo in the past... . another CLASSIC Luongo meltdown.. play well for 55 games then absolutely shiet the bed for the final 5 mins of the game.

A lot of 3rd and 4th liners disguised as top 6 forward on our team, that's why we cant score any damn goals. But our GM is 'patient' so don't look for any major changes...

im not saying its Lus fault but common... they say he has "no chance" on the goals but scrivens at the other end right before the tying goal makes 4 saves he has no business making ... and this is happeneing every other night.....when was the last time we got dominated start to finish was out shot by a ratio of 2:1 and we walked away with a win? it never happens we get lit up Lu gets pulled and everyone blames the D and say it wasnt Lu's fault the whole team played like crap...... welll LA played like crap and their goalie kept them in the game the whole time .

Lets go back to our offseason, Gillis had 5 MILLION DOLLARS entering free agency. He upgraded us at centre from last year since both Richardson and Santorelli are better than Lappy. We picked up a SOLID 6th D-man in Ryan Stanton off waivers.
