Unless people want that as an option of course. Nah, it's better than just bunching them up together again. You want to gauge the real merit of each character. If you just have two from the same franchise being pitted against one another early, that vote splitting would thin out the competition artificially. The best characters often come from the same franchises, and it's not a coincidence. When setting up a tournament you want to distribute the heavyweights evenly within each division. Last time, most of the good franchises were in the first two divisions. That said, Mario characters shouldn't be getting too far this time. They're awesome, but the games aren't exactly carried by the characters themselves. Mario himself will probably win it all again though, lol. Link to comment
