cs2016
Tyson Giuriato @TysonGiuriato9m Reports have the #Canucks signing Dane Fox, a linemate of Brendan Gaunce on the Erie Otters. Fox has 67 points (41-26-67) in 35 games. Megg @megg_fox24m So very proud of my brother @dane_fox !! Signing his 1st NHL contract with the Vancouver Canucks #proudsis #dreamcometrue Seems like the Canucks have signed Dane Fox, who has 41 goals this season with the Erie Otters although he is an overager. This may be why the Canucks terminated Polasek's contract. Stats: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=122861
Saskatchewan Canucks Fan
Got to love a free prospect. Will be nice to have him develop with Gaunce in Utica for a couple years hopefully

c00kies
They can play in the AHL together next year. Should make their transition to the NHL easier.
Hamhuis Hipcheck
41 goals in 35 games??.. Damn.. This could be a great signing For an overager? not really.
BananaMash
Free prospects are nice, but if Mallet and (to a lesser extent) Archibald have taught us anything, you can't really judge an overager until they play pro.
Blame Obama
Sportsnet Dane Fox?
EternalCanuckFan
A bit surprised that the Canucks are using up one of their freed up contract spots for an overager. Still, looking forward to seeing how he develops - there must have been something that caught their eye beyond his scoring stats this season. He will hopefully last longer in the organization than Zach Hamill.
Wheels22
For an overager? not really. On pace for like 70+ goals?.. You're right, what a crap player he must be...
Outsiders
Sportsnet Dane Fox? Same LOL. I was like what?
Pears
Awesome!! Even though Fox is an overager he's still one of the main reasons why Erie's doing so good. Solid signing by Gillis.
cs2016
Cool, any footage or highlights of him? Not much on YouTube, only fight footage which seems to reveal a bit of his role on teams before he exploded this year.
coyotecanuck
Signing these overagers is a shrewd move by MG. They will need time to develop in the AHL, but this is essentially a high second round draft pick for free. Late bloomers always have more to prove! Strong Sedins
There was even a thread that why is he unsigned. This may also make up for our second round pick that we lost to Derek Roy.
Hairy Kneel
nothing like healthy competition for our top two lines, we've needed that type of push esp on the powerplay, also we may finally be dealing from strength at the trade deadline for once. we shall see
DrChill
No nothing about this guy, but sweet.
22sedins33
On his first draft year he was slated to go somewhere between the second and fourth round but for one reason or another he was never taken. I was actually livid at the time that we didn't take a shot at him in the sixth or seventh round. That being said, even now as an overager he still isn't what I would consider to be a gamechanger at the OHL level. Not sure how enthusiastic I am about this signing. SheffieldCanuck1889
Anyone averaging over a goal per game is a game changer in whatever league there doing it in, and as for being an overager, he is only 6 months older then Gaunce!
