ShakyWalton
Winning the rookie of the year for K-Zoo didnt seem to help Fox get a callup..Blomstrand but not him. Granted niether would play in the playoffs..but just being up would be good for him

canuktravella
fox will be on utica next yr. i hope he hired a skating coach and trains hard all summer on his foot speedd and endurance because he has a nhl shot and one timer thats sick fingers crossed that he ends up in nhl in 2-3 yrs honing his pro game

Travis Green will make him work on his defensive game. And we all agree that he needs to improve his skating, but that is not always possible at his age. He is still a longshot to ever play in the NHL. Next year will be a big year for him.
Tiger-Hearted
And we all agree that he needs to improve his skating, but that is not always possible at his age. He is still a longshot to ever play in the NHL. If Fox is very driven to prove the naysayers wrong, there is absolutely no reason why his skating can't improve. We haven't heard any update from the Kalamazoo coaching staff on whether Fox's skating has improved or not.
elvis15
Nothing that specific that I've seen, no. But it is a vote of confidence that the coach thinks he'll be in the AHL next year so I'd assume that's for more than just the fact he can score goals. We haven't heard any update from the Kalamazoo coaching staff on whether Fox's skating has improved or not. His coach stated just before New Year's that his skating had improved significantly. VegasCanuck
He seems to really have a good shot, if they can get his foot speed up to even the basic NHL level, he may make it to the team in 2 or 3 years.

canuktravella
watever, fox has a nhl shot and sick onetimer if his skating can cat h up he can make nhl no problems not everyone developes at same speed, time will tell but i think he will be nhl one day. CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Since Utica did scoring by committee and only had one guy with 20 goals or more (Brandon Defazio) Fox's and Blomstrand's 30+ goals in the ECHL for the Wings will be a much welcomed addition. Not saying that it will translate, but when players know how to score, it certainly helps the team having those options.

alfstonker
His brother Trent is just as big at 17 years old and quoted 139 in the draft. Maybe worth a look.

It is my one worry about all our emerging prospects/rookies, there are no natural scorers like Daniel, likely to put up big points in the NHL. That will have to be addressed, look at the teams contesting the SC Con finals at present.
