Canucks have signed this goal scoring leader in the ohl. He is an over age player and that should be taken into account. Has had some terrible luck with injuries too.

We can watch him play with gaunce

He's got to work on his skating but he's got NHL hands and shot. This guy will be better than Jensen and I'm glad to have signed him

Plays with an edge and grit that gaunce lacks

Thoughts? Signing with no risk and some NHL potential

Still don't understand why this guy hadn't been signed yet. He may have some character issues, because everything about his game, other than his skating, is pretty impressive.

He's on pace for over 70 goals right now. Even as an overager that's impressive.

Top OHL scorers like him have been flash in the pan players before, but the fact that he plays with one of our top prospects is definitely a positive. Hopefully he can make the transition with Gaunce next year to the AHL.

This from Pronman in his 2012 draft year

Fox had a decent OHL season for a late birthdate draft prospect, as he produced for both teams he lined up for. Offense likely won't be Fox's output to a notable degree in the pro game, though, as looks more like a defensive forward with great agitating qualities and good on-ice intangibles. He's a fine skater who will be able to keep up with the average pro and has a real good engine that churns his legs as he'll cover a lot of ice on any given shift. While his projection seems more like a third line type of player, Fox will show flashes of offensive skill, be it with slightly above-average hands or distribution skill, and I could see if his development goes well him spotting on scoring lines here and there. The rare hustle and heart type of player who his coach has used on the point for the power play and of course he gets PK minutes as well in which he shows his defensive effectiveness. Fox can get a little over the top at times with his agitating, but overall has managed to keep his penalty minutes in check.

Fox plays on a line with McDavid and Brown.

Not sure why he didn't go drafted during his first eligible year. He had decent numbers on a stack Knight's team and then was near point per game player. He had a leg/lower body injury that set him back in his 2nd eligible year.

He's not doing the heavy lifting on his line but it's always a good sign to see players with the ability to play with superstars. See Kunitz, Burrows, Henrique (with Kovalchuk).

Will look forward to seeing him progress in the AHL next season. We've got a lot of guys coming into Utica next year. Shinkaruk, Gaunce and now Fox.

Offensive output aside, I like the fact that analysts describe him as agitating. We could use more players like that in the system.

Even if his offensive game doesn't translate to the next level, hopefully his physical and defensive game does. Nothing wrong with having a good third or fourth liner with some good hands.

Gah, I was hoping someone who actually liked prospects would make the thread. I see you've already started with a contentious statement.

How about you hit the big edit button, imbed stats, and let everyone else start the discussion.

We could start a huge flame war so this thread gets locked and you could start another one....Fatty.

I say again.

He played with Horvat in London and they did OK occasionally paired together.

Now he plays with Gaunce in Eerie and they are doing more than OK together

He has prior experience with 2 of our top prospects and will most likely grow with them in Utica.

Solid signing basically a freebie. And there are still a few spots to fill to hit that 50 player mark.

Now, can we queue the Gillis is now ready to make a run at McDavid because we have his linemates comments?
