DanHamhuis
As per various reports. Resulted from crosscheck from Hanzal “@sportsnetmurph: #Canucks Mike Santorelli has shoulder surgery and is done for the season. Recovery to take 5-6 months.” “@mattsekeres: #Canucks Mike Santorelli out 5-6 months after successful shoulder surgery. Almost certainly out for this year. He's a UFA this summer.” “@benkuzma: No surprise. Santorelli has had shoulder surgery after taking hit from Hanzal in Phoenix on Jan. 16. #Canucks”

It's a process
He will cost less to re sign. This is a good thing since this team isn't going anywhere in the playoffs or even making them.
Warhippy
Santo, Bieksa, Hank, Danny (ish) and Tanev and more. Is there any way we can just write the season off, come in 9th in the conference and still win the lottery to make the collective alberta fans cry when we draft Ekblad? AbbyNucksFan
I think you can only jump 5 spots in the lottery.. or did they change that?

BlueLemming
FRICK! One of the few players that was actually impressive this year. I guess this means he'll probably sign a 1 year again, hopefully with us, and let's hope he rehabs well.

theminister
Who would've thunk that losing Santirelli would be such a major blow to the team, 5 months ago? But it really is today.
Mr.53
NOOOOO. That is a big loss. I wish he'd be back for playoffs but that probably won't happen. Wish you the best Santo. Only silver lining is that he will probably cost less to resign, but still. Damn...

Go Faulk Yourself
I hope we can keep Santo. He always seemed to be one of the few this season that have been constantly attempting to contribute something offensively on the ice, and had been noticeable in that effort. Wish the best of luck to Santo in his recovery.
aGENT
If this doesn't spark a trade, I don't know what will Sell off maybe. Hope you don't expect any white knight trades. He will cost less to re sign. That's the silver lining I see as well.
