TheOgRook
Hmm... Bringing in an extra D man so we can move elder? Cause once our injured D come back we have too many.. Wishful thinking I know right!?
Danthecanucksfan
So happy we got anything decent for weise. Diaz is a very solid piece considering who we gave up.
Spoosh
Not bad. Time will tell what this trade brings, but as for now, we didn't give up much. And Weise being moved this year seemed inevitable IMO.
BlueLemming
Good trade, especially with recent injuries. Weber might be out long term it seems :/
aGENT
Bold moves. It's just the beginning. He's getting warmed up.
Dragonfruits
decent pick up needed defense and Weise has been wasting a roster spot for awhile now
Shredder
Diaz was brought in so Edler could be moved. ROR is free to be moved in march I believe ?
DeltaSwede
I could see Alberts being waived after this. As for the move, solid trade for both teams. Vancouver get's what they want and need and same goes for Montreal. With Weber though, doesn't really make sense to add Diaz in that respect, very similar players. Lonny_Bohonos_14
Seriously? Why....Diaz is so small and Weise while kind of a speedbag at times was a 4th line player with upside. Uggghhhh queue 14 pages of how this is our reset, Bold moves comments and Gillis needing to be fired. He's listed as 5'11 197lbs, so not that small. He shoots right, which is a plus, and has averaged just under 19 minutes a game. Not a bad pick up imo. Especially for just Weise.
hockeyfan87
At this point anything could help the PP, couldn't make it worse. Redundant or not Weise was still playing harder than most of our top six sadly. I don't expect bold moves, never did. but this rabid fan base uses the "bold moves" comments constantly It's because when Gillis took the job he said he said he would make bold movies, much like Mactavish said last year, and when you fail to deliver it leaves you open to the criticism. Darth Kane
With all the injuries I'm not surprised to see this. I made a trade proposal on the weekend that involved Vancouver getting a defenseman (amongst other things) and was shot down vigorously by some stating Vancouver doesn't been defense. I'm not pointing any fingers or anything (***cough, dough, The Truth Hurts, cough, cough***).
sabatoge95
I think this means that we're going to trade a D-Man soon. Probably a deal involving Edler and Ryan O'Reilly.
qwijibo
Makes zero sense from Montreal's side, I can't fathom what Bergevin was thinking.
Shredder
Just wondering what Diaz brings to the table that Weber doesn't or didn't? Could this be the prelude to an Edler trade? Weber is fine, he's just injured..
:D
Weise's chin arrived in Montreal an hour before the rest of him
Sugar baby watermelon
Awesome trade, Wiese did not fit on the team, he didn't bring enough, bringing in Diaz who is an offensive player is just what we need
Ace The Creator
I always lol at the commentators on NHL 14 because they pronounce his name "wheeze"
elvis15
Another right hander, perhaps with another trade in mind as we start to get players back from injury that play that side (Bieksa, Tanev and Weber).
Tigs
What are we going to do without Weise's Chin???!!!
Lonny_Bohonos_14
Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun 5m DIaz by the way is UFA-eligible July 1 after his deal expires David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod 5m Didn't sound like contract talks were getting anywhere with Habs/Diaz...
