Supporting your team through thick and thin, whether top of the league or sucking bottom.. DOES NOT MAKE YOU CLUELESS!

Your attitude makes you a bandwagoner

Yes the twins suck right now, yes the whole team sucks right now.

They. Need. Fan. Support. Now. More. Than. Ever

Sure, what is there to support?

Once the sedins can't produce offensively, they aren't all that useful. They aren't physical, fast, or incredible in their own end of the ice. At this point, the only thing they provide is leadership and can act as mentors. $14 million for 2 mentors doesn't seem quite right in my opinion but everyone on the board would defend the sedins with their lives so meh...

I agree with you.

Love the twins, but $14 million per season for the next four years for mentors is a disaster.

Daniel had the most shots on net tonight and logged the second most ice time.

Our new hero,Raphael, led the team in ice time, goals and inspiration.

It's not Hank's call if he plays or not. That decision is management's.

Hope that Raphael can mesh with the twins.

Agree with both! Hank has been the toughest player I've seen considering what he does, plays through, and deal he takes. However, he should just wait till he's 100% and come back for the better of everyone.

Henrik's clearly sending everyone the message that this Vancouver Canucks organization is VERY important to him. After AV pulled him 22 secs into a season-ending game vs an Alberta team...& things went bad in the end for the team & Luongo 'cuz he wasn't there to be re-activated & he took the heat for it...well - NOT having his leadership questioned, has become a priority. But - it was still the coach's & training staff's call...to put him out there.

I say message received, Hank! I tip my hat to ya. Now take the rest of this week-off... go play for Sweden in Sochi....& come back re-juvenated & lead the 'Nucks back to respectability... after the break. :)

only on CDC is "good leadership" considered the ability to stand for abuse.

it isn't winning because of leadership. it isn't channeling that abuse into drive for production, it is simply one's ability to withstand the punishment. simply BEING there with a C on your chest, by some people's definition, is "good leadership"

in that case, strap a shirt and C to this guy's chest, and we'll have one of the most durable captains imaginable. dude can take a serious beating.

Something is just wrong with our training/medical staff. The shear number of injuries, players coming back early only to struggle for ridiculous streaks and then re-injure themselves. Hank can barely skate and he's out there already? for what purpose? he was taken out because he was hurt and we sucked, so putting him back in hurt ain't gonna change anything. Fire somebody holy crap, this can't be normal.

This fact has already been pointed out on multiple threads.

Seriously...is the entire medical staff made-up of family & friends to owners or someone? Or do they just know about too much inside dirt or something...to let 'em go? I just can't rationalize it! How with SO many red-flags & mis-steps & sky-rocketing injuries...& all of the mis-diagnosed concussions, back-problems, & broken bones...has there NOT been at least a few announced up-grades or changes there?

Tortorella's system was criticized early on for putting TOO many of his players at risk. Maybe AV's methods of playing the better odds...by resting or protecting the Sedin twins & others by keeping them off the PK & having 'em produce on great answering-back shifts...WASN'T all that crazy! How about creating a smaller crew of shot-blocking specialists...instead of asking everyone to be shot-blocking fodder? Risk vs reward! Tortorella makes no distinctions...everyone is a foot-soldier...the problem with this is that not everybody is replaceable ...with this team's depth issues. Over-playing his top 2 lines has now caught-up to John Tortorella ...& the health of our top-line Canucks as well.

There's plenty of blame to go around ...& we haven't even touched upon their overly-patient & slow-movin' GM... Gillis. But criticsm...should NOT be too heavily levied against the valiant captain ...who's heart nearly explodes with effort every shift. Daniel may not be giving us cause to cheer lately...but his brother, the captain... is clearly a keeper.

That aside - Luongo also looked pretty fragile... & sounded even more so, when he gave his post game interviews. I pray the "leadership group"...with its' 8 Olympians...gets a 2nd wind playing in that Olympic tournament... & that they muscle-memory some of that elite-play & bring it back to the team with some renewed confidence...after the break. Oh pleazzzze - make it so!

Why? His telling the truth. The Sedins are sucking.

When healthy the Sedins now could be a very effective second line but just an average first line. So its up to MG to build a good, young effective first line. Pieces that he has to move to make this happen are Kesler, Burrows, Edler and Bieksa. If he can't build a first line with those pieces then he should step down because teams would be salavating to aquire these types of players.

Nope, he can't use those players. Well, unless they agree to it. Good luck, Gillis.
