Nordiques_fan
Nobody, I say nobody, even mentionned Schneider! Did you all forget this guy was God, for Chri..t sake? Give your head a shake! If and if and maybe if too, he would certainly have been the best goalie in the universe and beyond. May his soul rest in peace. Schneider ftw. Luongo has out played him in all 3 head to head matches and has beat him. Luongo is the best Canuck goalie.

howswedeitis76
Agree with most that Luongo is at least tied for number 1 spot, Mclean being the other potential "#1". Also agree with CanuckGAME that the disrespect Cloutier gets is pathetic. He was a brilliant regular season goalie, and not as bad in the playoffs as some would have you believe. He's the poster child for undeserved canucks fan abuse, and our treatment of him the reason we're considered a goalie graveyard. There is no question his last year or so in a Canucks uniform wasn't good, but that doesn't negate several seasons where his play pretty much ensured that we could expect at least SOME playoff games in a city where previously it was a miracle to get in. Ben Kenobi
McLean faced a lot of fast players and was capable of stopping them, and the only other goaltenders capable of stopping them around that time were Hasek, Roy and Belfour. You're not seriously comparing McLean with Hasek, Roy and Belfour? Really?Bobby Lou is the best player that the Canucks have ever had. Yes, better than Pavel.

Ronalds.Kenins41
Luo and Schneids are even. With them together we won 2 presidents trophies and a Jennings Trophy.
VegasCanuck
A) Kirk McLean Roberto Luongo C) Johnny Bower D) Tony Esposito E) Gump Worsley Interesting note, 3 of these former Canuck goalies are in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Why isn't John Garrett on that list???

wallstreetamigo
Luongo then McLean. Say what you want about Luongo but if not for him the Canucks would have lost to the Hawks in the 1st round of the 2011 run (huge save on Sharp on the PP in OT - talk about coming up with a big save when you need it). And the Bruins would have swept the Canucks in the finals had Luongo not held the fort down. Sure he had some blowout losses but that does not diminish the clutch shutouts and standing on his head against the Bruins at times. It is so easy to hate on him. But in reality he was something special in most of his time here. The team in front of him and the mistakes of the coaching staff do not get nearly enough heat for those meltdown losses in the playoffs imo. McLean was a great goalie too and very clutch at times. But he had his stinker moments too like all goalies do. Time has just erased those memories a lot more than they have for Luongo.
CanuckofSteel
Roberto Luongo I have never seen a goaltender turn a franchise around like he did when he got here, many people became Canuck fans because of him. He was the most well known Canuck during his time here, people who didn't know anything about hockey knew who Luongo was. He has accomplished amazing things here, no other goalie in Canucks history has accomplished as much as he has.
