Actually it is.

I can enjoy both brands of football.

The CFL has a few strange rules and has less talent, but the games can still be entertaining.

I've played and coached both rules and I prefer the subtleties in the American game, but I admit the CFL has done a lot to raise the standard of its product over the past 10 years. I go to the odd Lions game and never miss it on TV - very entertaining!

So do the Lions quit their jobs and play football or do they still work the other job when they are not practicing??

i watch both and love both but canadian rules are far better...and the refs seem to be far better at applying them... very rarely when done watching a cfl game has anyone said the refs really messed the game up.. the dinosaur refs in the NFL take 20 minutes reviewing a call and still get it wrong.. its unbelievable

I think a lot of guys pick up some work in the off-season.. some white-collar ( http://www.marcoiannuzzi.com/ ) but I remember hearing big Moe Elewonibi used to work construction.

I took last year off watching the CFL but will probably get back into it. It's just too hard to watch games when the weather turns nice. I'd rather be outside. I respect the CFL, but the games are more like watching NCAA. The NFL is the better game in my opinion.

• Argo defensive back Matt Black spent the winter selling clothes at lululemon and then training to be a mutual fund salesman.

• Linebacker Kevin Eiben runs a sports training facility while running back Jeff Johnson sells real estate.

• Defensive lineman Adriano Belli works in the family meat business year-round when not knocking heads with guys on the other side of the line.

• Punter Eddie Johnson splits his time working as a bartender in California and as a personal coach to a young kicking prospect.

• Edmonton quarterback Jason Maas works in sales on the Alberta oil fields.

• Hamilton Tiger-Cats offensive lineman Peter Dyakowski puts his imposing size to use as a youth worker at a correctional facility. So does Ticat defensive back Sandy Beveridge, who also works during the season as a volunteer firefighter.

I find the CFL much more entertaining. NFL is such a snooze fest, run 3 yards, run 2 yards, pass 4 yards. At least in the CFL there are more passing plays.

That's football. Don't expect passing plays every down. NFL is a grind. You earn your yards one way or another.

CFL ain't real football

You must be watching the wrong channel bud.

The CFL is real football, so is the NFL

I prefer NFL but CFL is real football too. The only rule that drives me crazy in the CFL is how they stop the clock after every play in the final 3 minutes. That alone change alot of decisions throughout the game, and also rids them of a true 2 minute drive, which is the most exciting part of football imo. Anyways go Lions, I'm sure I'll end up at a few games this year

LOL "time for real football." You must mean the NFL?

CFL ain't real football

Why to people always feel the need to slam on the CFL? Don't like it fine, but saying it isn't real football is ignorant.

Both leagues have positives and negatives. Personally, I'm not a fan of the NFL, but I don't go out of my way to constantly crap on it.

Looking forward to the season and the Grey Cup this year. Lions have a very good chance at winning it all.

Both games are really fun to watch. NFL has really improved in terms of entertainment the last few years because of the emphasis of passing and more scrambling QB's. So many games in the NFL are so high scoring. CFL is quirky and Canadian. I love everything about it. Sure the talent is not as good as the NFL, but I love being able to go to a Lions practice in Surrey and chat with the players. The small time feel of the CFL makes it really fun to enjoy and I don't have to break the bank to go to a game.
