Jägermeister
If we could somehow fall to/trade down to the 4th or 5th pick and pick up Leon Draisaitl, this abominable season would be worth it.
Warhippy
We look at reasonable expectations and desires for our team. But now we take in to account what everyone else will do. 1st overall for Edm or Buffalo will be in no particular order Ekblad or Reinhart right? Well what if the rumours are true and Edm takes Fleury if Buf takes Ekblad? So Ekblad and Fleury have gone 1-2 right? Then Florida comes up, do they need yet ANOTHER center? Probably not so they take solid winger Dal Colle right? Isles come up provided nothing has changed via lottery and obviously take Reinhart. Well here is the thing. Calgary then needs another stud C don't they? eehhhhh Burke likes his truculence and could just as easily take Virtanen or Ritchie. It's what he does This leaves the bigger names falling doesn't it? And that is again providing that Snow doesn't go way off the boards and grabs Perlini, Ehlers, Ritchie, Virtanen or someone of the sort. Snow and Burke are the wild cards here in New York and Calgary. Quite honestly I expect some real surprises in the top 10 in terms of who picks what. It is feasible like last year we see Bennett and Reinhart slip to the 4-7 spots. In all honesty the only 2 players I take off the board are Ekblad and Reinhart....and I guess Dal Colle. As it stands anything could happen. Especially with Calgary Edmonton and the Isles.
elvis15
So the top 5 NA skaters could be top 5 overall. Well, lets see where we end up and if anyone falls out of the top 5.

But will we fall to him???? 6th pick will either be 1st 6th or 7th so that's attainable if everything goes right, if not we could be looking at 9th or tenth, or even higher. silver_surfer
I don't see Florida passing on him. Me neither, although if Ritchie puts on another show in the playoffs... I wonder if the new GM makes a bit of a splash to move up. There's always a chance of winning the Lotto!

silver_surfer
I still see Calgary possibly taking Ritchie with Burke at the helm I meant the possibility of Florida taking Ritchie if he tears up the playoffs. Now that Florida is positioned to pick 2nd the likelihood of them taking BPA (Bennett/Reinhardt/Ekblad is more likely) Buffalo - Reinhardt Florida - Bennett Edmonton - Ekblad NYI - Dal Colle Calgary - Ritchie Winnipeg - Nylander Vancouver - Draisaitl

MoneypuckOverlord
realisticaly the best we can do is number 6 overall, which is kinda a long shot, and hope no one before us wins the lottery dropping us to number 7, or if we win the lottery it be the 1st pick. any hitmen fans here? Is Virtannen really that good?

If Ekblad goes 1st, and Edmonton picks 2nd or 3rd, couldn't they take the BPA and trade him for a solid NHL-ready Dman? Reinhart or Bennett could get them a pretty good player. The Stork
Here's how I see it Buffalo grabs Ekblad Edmonton grabs another Center in two of last three years in Reinhart Florida picks up Dal Colle Change my mind Since we have a good trade relationship with Florida I'd trade our pick to them plus a player for 3rd overall We grab Dal Colle or Draisaitl most likely Draisaitl if we don't keep Matthias or Richardson
PlayStation
Honestly who is Sam Bennet, seen him at the top of the list all year, and its as if he doesnt exist. All the talks about Reinhart, Ekblad, Draisaitl etc. No hype over the poor kid from what I've seen at least.
