Ehlers
@cotsonika Brendan Shanahan is indeed leaving the NHL for the Maple Leafs, Yahoo Sports has confirmed. @renlavoietva An official announcement on Brendan Shanahan with the Maple Leafs could come as early as tomorrow. #tvasports @TSNBobMcKenzie Sounds like official announcement of Brendan Shanahan as new president of Toronto Maple Leafs will be made tomorrow in a news release. @DarrenDreger In addition to title of President of the Maple Leafs, Shanahan is expected to be named an alternate governor. Confirmation of hire Friday. @BradyFan590 On Shanahan, either a 5 or 6 year agreement. League source says Shanahan will be speaking with Bettman tonight about giving up current role. My inclination is to believe a week from now that Dave Nonis won't be with the organization. Strong chance Dave Poulin still will be. @TSNBobMcKenzie As reported by @TorontoStar, can confirm Brendan Shanahan finalizing arrangements to leave NHL to take executive pos'n with Maple Leafs. Warhippy
@RealKyper Source confirms #Leafs CEO Tim Leiweke interest in Brendan Shanahan in a potential role with hockey club. More 2nite on @Sportsnet Connected Good for Toronto, change needs upstairs for sure. However, Shanahan has no previous experience at a managerial level He also had NO experience as a disciplinarian either but he did ok at that didn't he? ...... didn't he? MJDDawg
Leiweke knows how to play the corporate game. I think Shanny is a bright guy whose been around the game a long time and who could do well in a GM's role. I hope Trev brings him in to talk to him at least. insomniac604
Another rumour is that Shanahan might go to Vancouver in a GM capacity.I like the guy. I like his work as a disciplinarian. Was he perfect? No. But he was certainly 12 steps above the last people (or lack thereof).I will miss saying SHANABANNED
Ehlers
Nonis appears to be safe. (for now) Hope_Smoke@Hope_Smoke McKenzie on TSN Radio "Shanahan's role in Toronto would be above the GM." @Hope_Smoke McKenzie "I think Shanahan is intrigued by the Leafs. He has deep roots in NY. NHL job works well for him"
Trebreh
The Leafs had an epic meltdown like the Canucks have, get eliminated from the playoff race in a 3-0 shutout.....like the Canucks and now they want to bring in a former player to be hockey ops lol copy cats

DeNiro
On a day that should be about Linden becoming president of the Canucks, the Leafs just couldn't help trying to stay in the spotlight. TSN even has this story above the Linden hiring. What a joke.
MoneypuckOverlord
Shanny for President of Hockey Operations Maple Leafs .... Leafs copying Canucks model. In terms of "sportsmanship" Trevor LInden and Shanahan are 2 different type of players. Shanahan was the modern day goon of his era, It's like he was the MIlan Lucic of his Era, but less fighting and more dirty chipinnes. The fact that he has that job today in terms of suspending players is extremely ironic. Anyways, don't care about the Laffs.

So no story really to them. Clowns. I've already gave em a piece of my mind on twitter.
