DrChill
@coreypronman: And here we go..... RT @TPS_Guy: As per @CHN_AdamWodon, Boston College senior Kevin Hayes won't sign with Chicago, He's UFA Aug 15th. @coreypronman: Hayes was picked 24th overall in 2010. The 6-foot-4 forward was second overall in NCAA scoring this past season.
BlueLemming
Dang, his college stats are impressive. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/kevin_hayes/ I wouldn't be surprised to see Florida sign him if his brother Jimmy stays there.
Ossi Vaananen
Ouch, a first rounder walking away from his club, that'll hurt any team. His biggest year was this past one with 65 points in 40 games. I watched him and BC play the other day, he seemed to benefit from playing with Gaudreau. We'll see where he lands, he'll no doubt have 29 other teams going after him. Chicago is just so stacked these days, players really don't see the opportunity there, but man givign up on a chance to play on an elite team is pretty hard to make. tas
laurence gilman was on 1040 yesterday and mentioned being out east on a "clandestine canucks mission" when gillis was fired. hmm...
Derp...
Could see him going to the B's. How talented is he really? 3rd line potential?
thad
Hey if its opportunity to crack a roster that helped him make his decision, maybe he would give vancouver a solid look, big changes coming. He's from boston though, wouldnt surprise me if he goes die hard bruins fan and heads home. If you're from a city with an original 6 team, you're most likely a die hard fan of that team. missioncanucksfan
Wouldnt blame him. Hard to crack the hawks roster with Kane and Hossa on the RW. sign him just to piss the Hawks off.

theminister
To Calgary with his linemates Arnold and Gaudreau That would make sense since they just got both of those guys under contract. It would certainly give Abby a great boost next year.

RunningWild
How can he do this? the Schultz loophole?
Ossi Vaananen
How can he do this? the Schultz loophole? Basically, 4 years after being drafted by a team and not signing with them makes him a UFA. In the case of athletes not attending university I believe it's only 2 years before UFA status. The deadline being in August in this current CBA is new to me, as previously college FAs could sign after the playoffs.

AV.
Risk of Hutton doing this? Meh. He probably turns pro in about 2 years so by then Bieksa and Hamhuis will have expired contracts so if it came down to "NHL or bust", I'd imagine we'd have some sort of spot available. DeNiro
laurence gilman was on 1040 yesterday and mentioned being out east on a "clandestine canucks mission" when gillis was fired. hmm... Would that be tampering? Technically he's not under contract, so what's to stop teams from talking with him?
canuckster19
Would that be tampering? Technically he's not under contract, so what's to stop teams from talking with him? Pretty sure it's tampering simply because you can only negotiate with one team.
