CRUNK
After hearing multiple reports of Tortorella spending minimal time at the rink with the team and that he is most likely to leave for home as soon as his contractual obligation "daily presser" is complete- I think that he has lost the room. Pat Quinn shared his attitude in one of the clips during the Ronning/Smyl/Kurtenbach interview yesterday that seems important. Pat Quinn: "The players will not care how much you know, until they know how much you care." If you heard how much that Ronning felt that Quinn was not only an amazing coach and leader, but also like a father figure...you have to know that Tortorella needs to be gone on Monday Morning. Lets hope that there is a buyout clause .

He was worse then Torterella ever was on any of his teams with the media. Say what you want about the situation in Oilers land at the time but our own Steve Tabilini and Pat Quinn did nothing to help the Oilers franchise. Quinn should be nothing more then a casual adviser to Linden.
TheAntar
You can imagine Quinn's attitude would be different in van with linden though. As for the quote, wow what a freakin cliche.

From the interviews I've heard he still has a lot of solid advice and attitude to share, I think he would make a good addition to TL's team. Fred65
I advocated years ago, when vcr was getting the "we hate the Canucks attitude" from HNIC and the media in general...followed by the fans who are the sheep in the plot. Pat Quinn should have been appointed as an ambassador to the canucks. He'd have straighted out folks like McLean and Cherry pretty dam fast. the man is simply put a presence, however i wonder if those days and that opportunity has now passed
J529
Where did disconnect between Canucks and Quinn all start? Was it when he was fired in 1997 under Mccaw ownership?
VegasCanuck
...you have to know that Tortorella needs to be gone on Monday Morning. I'd be okay waiting till Afternoon Tea on Tue if necessary. Lots to do after tonight!

CRUNK
I am in no way advocating that Quinn be hired, only that Tortorella is let go. Quinn will help Linden because they are very connected, We need to dump Torts on Monday please
McBackup
I would love to see Pat Quinn in an advisory role, but nothing more. We don't need to start an old boys club like they have in Edmonton. Its time for some new blood and fresh perspectives.

nuck nit
Here's another Pat Quinn Jewel of Wisdom: Regarding Edmonton: In a 2013 interview, he said that "up there the nuts were running the funny farm. That's really what was wrong with that organization [when I was coaching] and maybe still is." http://www.coppernblue.com/2014/3/26/5546898/not-so-sweet-sixteen-george-burnett-pat-quinn

Tearloch7
I am a die hard Canucks fan. Moved to Edm in 2009 That explains a lot .. I visit there often for brief periods and then flee back west when I start to feel 'numb .. once a week, you should drive to Hinton and have a burger, then drive back to the 'Chuck with yer windows open, whatever the time of year .. you will be OK .. I love Edmonton 3 days at a time twice a year ..
Milk Hot Dog
If you think Torts not sticking around for practice or running off to Point Roberts after interviews with the press is kinda weird, what about the story of him getting in his car and just driving home after winning the cup? Such strange disconnect if true.
