nucklehead
http://vimeo.com/91590326 Just came across this new product that's just about to take off. Takes lego and tinker toys to a whole new level of play and learning. This guy's going to be a kajillionaire.

Where's Wellwood
I think it'll cost too much to really take off for most families.
Offensive Threat
I think it'll cost too much to really take off for most families. Yeah, its looking like the price points are going to limit sales. Kids like Legos because they are fun and parents like them because they are very inexpensive and virtually indestructible. Inside, outside, in the tub, in the sandbox. They are fine. These expensive little toys? Not so much.

Offensive Threat
Tinkerbots is crowdsourcing funds on Indiegogo right now. Goal was $100,000 and they are at $125,000 with over 30 days left to go. Crowdsourcing to me shows the product is already a failure at the most basic level. You take your idea or working model to investors, toy companies and manufacturers and if they wont buy it or invest in it then you turn to this form of funding. So the people who know the industry inside and out already dont want anything to do with it. Of course with crowdsourcing they can do whatever they want with the money. They are not required at all to use it wisely or even for what they say its for. Theres no oversight. They could use that $100,000+ to go on a trip around the world. But who knows. They may use the funds wisely and get production going and be successful. There are enough well off families out there that will pay for this type of thing maybe. Am sure everyone was laughing about Facebook during its inception but look who is laughing now.
