BanTSN
Injury prone is the word for not worth itOh yeah, fatboy has a broken head and shoulder problems too, I forgot. Even if I 'love size', PASS.
BanTSN
Maybe we should look into another top 10 pick, as we should have done last year..............Edler.......Just take Virtanen and then tank for MacKinnon. Cup.
asian player
Doubt it considering he's battled w injuries, weight issues like u mentioned and inconsistency. Jake's going to be better than him as well. Weight 'issues' lol. Didn't think it was possible to turn his size into a negative. It's one thing to defend the guy you want but it's a different thing to spew nonsense about someone else
CanucksSayEh
Just take Virtanen and then tank for MacKinnon. Cup.Mack would be great lol, but I don't think we can suck that bad. Don't wanna wait for 2015 picks to pan out, gonna be wasting a lot of good years from guys like Kassian, Tanev, Lack, Matthias, Kes ect ect while we wait. There's a thing called too much size. I don't have a problem w/ it if he can skate. The only reason I bring his weight up is because it was mentioned on a website I was reading. mpt
Virtanen reminds me so much of Corey Perry, and that is darn good in my books. Him and Kassian are exactly what the team needs Except Perry knows how to pass.

Absent Canuck
Not sure if anyone has seen this video, but it's Virtanen mic'd up at the Top Prospects game. What I find impressive about him is that he's one of the youngest players in his draft class and won't turn 18 until August, yet he seems to have a leadership presence about him with the way he interacts with the players from various teams, and in return how they interact with him. http://www.bmotopprospects.ca/video/index/id/264ad63f4ed296bd3e25a24ddc7a1257 At one point, Ehlers is standing right beside Virtanen and it surprised me that he didn't look out of place size wise. That is because Ehlers was 5ft 11 and is now 6ft. Virtanen is 6 1 I think? I like Virtanen at #10 and if we do the Kesler deal we could very well snag him. BanTSN
I change my mind. The best part of Virtanen is that he knows he's good.If Dr. Recchi prescribed more swagger (and he's right this time), then this tough, cocky, high-flying, high-scoring SOB is exactly what we need. But hey, if it happens, then we're well on our way to McDavid.

Smashian Kassian
Virtanen is "basically a better Kassian" is a pretty silly claim. Different players. Quite different. Who do you want us to grab at #6 oldnews? I'm guessing Ritchie? You can't seriously be comparing Booth to Virtanen... Also, 45 goals in 71 games says other wise. There's strengths & weaknesses are the same, Virtanen probably has a better shot than post concussion Booth though. Tired of weak junk. Tired of slow garbage. This kid is elite-level fast, tough and can score highlight-reel goals. He's WAY better than Booth was as a prospect, so I laugh at that comparison. This 'he has no vision' mythology is false. He's not playing with the best teammates ever. Give him Drouin like Ehlers has the benefit of playing with and watch him dominate the CHL entirely. He's not a lightweight floater. He has WAY more legit NHL upside than those floater types. And he's not a total chunk like fatboy Ritchie. The best part is he's only just begun. Jeez your extremely misinformed, it makes your posts hard to read. Virtanen's regular linemates had more points than Ehlers. and Ehlers isn't a floater. I'd take Virtanen any day of the week over Ehlers. Ehlers wouldn't make it in the west, just imagine him playing against the Kings or Sharks. He would die. Just like Nyquist, Kane, Little, Cogliano, Hudler, MacKinnon, Eberle, Granlund, and Oshie all have right? While it's true that Ehlers is as fast as the breeze, he can also be knocked over by one. Pass. Again, misinformed, he's got great balance. Its easy to see by watching him play, but since you probably haven't: He is very solid on his skates and has a powerful stride that can fight through checks, hooks, and holds. Despite his size he has good balance and is very difficult to knock off the puck and this should only improve as he adds weight. http://lastwordonsports.com/2014/04/09/2014-nhl-draft-profile-8-nikolaj-ehlers/

Flash, dash, and complete avoidance of physical contact.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6tCveMcxS81:18 That kind of hit will happen almost every shift in a pro league. Get up, scarecrow. (He was totally fine, btw.)I don't know about you, but i'm done with watching that kind of embarrassing crap from my teams' players. Pass!A Canucks amateur scout compared Ehlers to Grabner. Pretty accurate assessment if you ask me, although Grabner's a bit bigger and faster. Oh yeah, the Canucks traded Grabner, and he's gone to be a so-so streaky scoring threat in the east, even alongside Tavares.fyi. Drouin is 3x better than any of Virtanen's teammates. Nice 'derp, post-concussion Booth' comparison though. Gimme a break.
