Ehlers vs Dal Colle vs Nylander

Recommended Posts

Which one should the Canucks choose? I personally think that all 3 of them are great. They have similar playstyles aswell. Ehlers is a very speedy finesse playmaker who can beat almost anyone 1 on 1 with his devastating speed. Kinda like Nathan MacKinnon. Although, MacKinnon is a bit bigger. Dal Colle is a big league sniper with a big league shot, along with some speed as well. That's why i love him so much. He could be our Jonathan Drouin. Nylander has a ceiling as high as anyone in the draft, But it depends on whether he can adapt to North American Hockey. That kid can stick handle in a phone booth. He's speedy and has good passing as well. What do you guys think?

What Ehlers Brings To The Table:

What Dal Colle Brings To The Table:

What Nylander Brings To The Table:

For a newcomer you sure know your way around CDC and all the controls.

For me Dal Colle has the higher floor than Ehlers. . His ceiling is not as high than Ehlers but almost as high, making him the easy choice for me.

I think Nylander is probably the biggest wildcard. Cited as having the most offensive talent in the draft, he is probably going to be some lucky score for a lower pick team because he never brought his game here to be tested.

There is a possibility with cuz its most likely NYI or CGY will go off the table with their pick

Agree, who knows with this draft. I can easily see Calgary taking Ritchie or Virtanen or Tuch (truculance Burkey)

Although, I cant see Dal Colle falling past the Isles, they would love a big rugged, winger with hands to play with Tavares, and they don't need a center with Strome in the background

If anything I can see it being down to Ehlers/Draisaitl/Ritchie for us. I am worried about Driasaitl's skating but as long as who we pick turns out great, I'll be happy

I am too. I really hope we dont have to choose between him and Ehlers............ Dal Colle I take without thinking.

Agreed. Draisaitl is more likely to fall than Dal Colle.

I'd pick MDC but I think it's highly unlikely he falls out of the top 5 so I'd take Ehlers.

Why do people assume though that CGY and NYI will pick "off the board"? I think if they're smart they'll take the BPA which would MDC..

I have said it before, I will say it again, Draisaitl reminds me of Kopitar. It would be a blessing to get him guys. Once the Sedins retire, it would be fucking awesome knowing our production will be picked up by Draisaitl as he will be almost in his prime, depending on when it happens.c

I don't normally do this, but I know Michael Dal Colle. He's my buddies cousin. He hates Vancouver with a passion and really does not want to play here. Whether you believe me or not I don't care but take that for whats it's worth. I've stated how I've known him a few times in the past.

Think about it from their prospective. Every player has teams they love and hate growing up. The hate teams just like you and I.

His favourite team will likely become the team that drafts him.

That's what I was thinking to. Don't all the prospects meet with the potential teams? If he really doesn't want to play for us then I'm sure he'd let the nux know that.

I'm as big an Ehlers supporter as anyone here, but have to agree with this analysis. Dal Colle is the surer thing of the two. That is why he won't fall to 6! Nylander leaves me cold: plenty of skill there, but nothing like the competitve fire Ehlers brings.
