(Proposal) VAN-CHI

I'd take Saad and Shaw in a heartbeat if that's all we can get for Kesler but I doubt it is.

If Kesler is moved at the draft then my bet is to Anaheim (if they lose out on Spezza) , or Detroit. Kesler moves back home and we acquire either tatar+sheehan/mantha , or nyquist+jurco. any combination of those forwards will be better then shaw and saad IMO. Detroit evaluates talent better than Chicago in my eyes.

Drop the 1st round pick and I still don't do this deal. At 2m for 2 more years, Shaw is a bargain for what he adds to the team. He is the ideal 3rd line center, would not want to move him at all. Saad is still on his ELC and will get a bridge contract. These are both cost controlled cheap talent , they bring a lot more to the table than their cap hit and we need to keep our cheap depth as our core is starting to become expensive. This deal costs us a lot a of depth and depth is key to winning in the playoffs.

Sorry but this trade is truly awful for the Hawks. Imo there is no chance of the Hawks trading for Kesler. It just doesn't make any sense from either team's point of view. The Hawks cannot afford Kesler's cap hit and there are multiple teams that could put together a better package than the Hawks can afford to give up.

Lolz Nyquist + Jurco, I doubt the Wings are interested in doing Nyquist straight up for Kesler. Some of you really need to look at things from the other team's perspective. Nyquist during one particular stretch for the Wings scored 23 goals in 28 games. His amazing run was the reason Detroit sat in a playoff position at the end of the season. He was the MVP of their season, think about things logically. Why would the Wings turn around and deal such a player?

If you watch the playoffs, you would see that Chicago doesn't trade the much younger and way cheaper Saad for Kesler straight up.

And that's ignoring that Saad was a beast in the playoffs.

Bowman understands that elite teams must continually keep/bring in young, cheap talent to stay competitive.

Saad is not part of Chicago's core players.

Saad and Shaw will have a cap hit of about $2.6M next year, do you have any understanding how important that is to Chicago's team?

To CHI: Ryan Kesler, Jordan Schroeder (RFA) + VAN 2015 2nd

To VAN: Andrew Shaw, Brandon Saad + CHI 2014 1st

don't see Saad going anywhere, even Shaw; I think he fits with that team, he will not be as good on the canucks. Also Shaw is too small to compete with the centers in the Pacific, that's why you do what you can within reason to pry Couturier out of Phi

Saad is untouchable, or it would cost a heck of a lot more to get him. That trade hurts Chicago's depth, Saad and Shaw are 2/3s of Chicago's best line at the end of the playoffs.

I doubt Kesler goes to Chicago. Vancouver won't want to send him there and Chicago won't want to give up that much.
