-Vintage Canuck-
@IgorSNET590: The rumored #Leafs deal of Phaneuf, Kadri and the 8th to FLA for Jovanovski and 1st overall would look better if franchise centre was avail. There is a potential trade being rumored around Panthers 1st overall pick and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Florida receives Dion Phaneuf, Nazem Kadri and 2014 8th overall pick. Toronto receives Ed Jovanovski and 2014 1st overall pick. The Maple Leafs would use the 1st overall pick to select Aaron Ekblad.
Xbox
omgomgomg let this be true! Kadri and Phaneuf being dealt alone makes this deal worth it. Can't stand watching them play or having them in the blue and white. Especially Kadri. Kids ego is 5x his potential and skill level.
Off_The_Schneid!
How is jovo worth anything? So it's kadri and phaneuf too jump 7 spots
Provost
That is actually a decent trade for both sides. Toronto gets a young stud and gets rid of the Phaneuf contract... and Florida gets some immediate help on the blue line and another decent young forward. Jovo is just a salary dump the other way. I bet Toronto eats a little retained salary for Phaneuf though.
Xbox
How is jovo worth anything? So it's kadri and phaneuf too jump 7 spots Kadri thinks he's the GOAT and wants a hefty payday he has yet to deserve. He hasn't got along well with management for this reason. As for Phaneuf, that 7M contract being gone makes it worthwhile.
chayne
What? Florida should do this. Jovo is the man... use to be the man... I liked Jovo when he played for Nuck but now is not worth his salary. Go Special Ed Go! Actually Phaneuf isn't worth his salary either.
kazin!
Great deal for the Leafs if it gets done for the reasons mentioned above. Losing Kadri will hurt them in the very short-term until one of their skilled prospects makes the jump.
saucypass
Please no, this means we can say goodbye at any chances of Sam Reinhart
Warhippy
If this si true Vancouver cannot match it. It also means Toronto has shot itself in the foot as they now have NO D man (would rush Ekblad and he'd get destroyed and run out f town) and a team with an already severe lack of center help would be losing their supposed #2 and one of their more offensively gifted players. Jovo is on his last leg literally... Ya go for it, van doesn't want to match that
Erik Karlsson
I feel like Kadri is underrated... He put up 50 points this year and almost a ppg last year and he's only 23.. I know he has an ego but still..
Rick Grimes
If this is true, I'm betting whomever the Leafs draft will be a bust. XD

saucypass
Well I suppose this means we'll be picking 6th overall. No chance Vancouver can match nor get the 2nd overall without overpaying. Let's just hope Toronto goes off the board and have a top 5 player drop to us.
Neversummer
Poor Luongo ... he'll have to put up with Phaneuf as one of the top Dman paring night in and night out.

Rey
Been speculation all year, that the Panthers would want to draft the most skilled player, whether it's Nylander or Ehler. If that is true, it only makes sense to go down. Though, not sure those 2 guys will be left, at the 8th spot. Pretty sure, they'll be looking at a higher pick than 8th. Rumor, that Calgary is offering 4th overall, a 2nd round pick, and TJ Brodie. Reinhart won't be drafted 1st overall. It'll be Aaron Ekblad, though he seems himself more of a Drew Doughty, while many scouts argue that he doesn't have that kind of skill and that hes more suited as a shutdown defender. If anything, Bennett is the one, that challenges that first OV pick, not Reinhart.

Huge frame yet mobile, wicked shot, and really no weakness in his game.
Angry Goose
I don't understand how you can sign a player in good faith and trade him right afterwards? That's bush league
